理化学研究所（りかがくけんきゅうしょ、英: Institute of Physical and Chemical Research、略称: 理研〈りけん〉、英略称: RIKEN）は、日本の埼玉県和光市に本部を置く国立研究開発法人。アジア最初の基礎科学総合研究所として、1917年（大正6年）に創立された。日本に2ヶ所設置されているバイオセーフティレベル4の実験室のうち1つを筑波研究所に有する。

Riken (Japanese: 理研, English: ; stylized in all caps as RIKEN) is a large scientific research institute in Japan. Founded in 1917, it now has about 3,000 scientists on seven campuses across Japan, including the main site at Wakō, Saitama Prefecture, just outside Tokyo. Riken is a Designated National Research and Development Institute, and was formerly an Independent Administrative Institution.

국립연구개발법인이화학연구소(일본어: 国立研究開発法人 (こくりつ‐けんきゅうかいはつほうじん)理化学研究所 (りかがくけんきゅうしょ) 코쿠리츠켄큐카이하츠호진리카가쿠켄큐쇼^[*], 영어: Institute of Physical and Chemical Research)는 1917년 과학기술 관련 연구 및 대중 확산을 목적으로 설립된 일본 문부과학성 산하 과학기술 연구소이다. 이연(일본어: 理硏 (りけん) 리켄^[*], 영어: RIKΞN)이라는 약칭으로 불리는 경우도 많다. 과학과 기술에 관한 포괄적 연구를 진행해 기술 발전의 결과를 대중에게 확산시키는 것을 활동 목적으로 삼고 있다. 연구성과 보급을 위해 대학 또는 기업과의 공동연구와 수탁연구를 진행하며 특허를 비롯한 지적소유권을 산업계에 이전하는 데도 적극적이다.

Le RIKEN (理研 - abréviation de 理化学研究所 (Rikagaku Kenkyusho) : « Institut de recherche physique et chimique ») est un institut de recherche au Japon. Le centre principal de l'institut se situe depuis 1963 à Wakō. Originellement un centre de recherche privé fondé en 1917 dont le siège est dans le quartier de Kogamone — intégré depuis 1947 dans l’arrondissement spécial de Toshima —, il devient un établissement public en 1958, et son statut juridique actuel est celui d’institution administrative indépendante.

Il RiKen (理研) è un centro giapponese di ricerca scientifica, avente sette campus e circa 3000 scienziati in tutto il Giappone.
