Der Hinkelstein (im Volksmund auch „Eselstratt“ genannt) ist das älteste Zeugnis der Besiedelung der Gemarkung Trittenheim. Es handelt sich um einen etwa 3500 Jahre alten Menhir, aufgestellt von der seinerzeit in der Region des heutigen Trittenheim lebenden Megalithkultur.
