The Greek Slave is a marble sculpture by the American sculptor Hiram Powers. It was one of the best-known and critically acclaimed American artworks of the nineteenth century, and is among the most popular American sculptures ever. It was the first publicly exhibited, life-size, American sculpture depicting a fully nude female figure. Powers originally modeled the work in clay, in Florence, Italy, completing it on March 12, 1843. The first marble version (prime version) of the sculpture was completed by Powers' studio in 1844 and is now in Raby Castle, England.

La esclava griega es una escultura de mármol del escultor estadounidense Hiram Powers. Fue una de las obras de arte estadounidenses más conocidas y aclamadas por la crítica del siglo XIX,[1]​ y se encuentra entre las esculturas estadounidenses más populares de la historia. Fue la primera escultura estadounidense de tamaño natural expuesta públicamente que representa una figura femenina completamente desnuda. Powers modeló originalmente la obra en arcilla, en Florencia, Italia y la completó el 12 de marzo de 1843.[2][3]​ La primera versión en mármol (versión principal) de la escultura fue completada por el estudio de Powers en 1844 y ahora se encuentra en el Castillo de Raby en Reino Unido.[4]
