„Catastrofa de la Ciurea” este numele sub care a intrat în istorie cel mai grav accident feroviar din România. Accidentul a avut loc în data de , în plină desfășurare a primului război mondial, în gara din localitatea Ciurea, la sud de Iași, pe calea ferată Bârlad - Iași. Bilanțul a fost de peste 1.000 morți, absența unei anchete oficiale nepermițând elucidarea cauzelor accidentului.
The Ciurea rail disaster, known in Romania as the Ciurea catastrophe (Romanian: Catastrofa de la Ciurea), occurred on 13 January 1917, during World War I. It occurred at Ciurea Station, in Iași County, a train station with a passing loop, located on the railway line from Iași to Bârlad. There was no formal investigation and the exact cause of the accident is unknown. The death toll is also uncertain, with most sources indicating between 800 and 1,000 deaths. With these estimates, the Ciurea rail disaster is one of the worst rail accidents in world history, in terms of the number of victims.
De treinramp bij Ciurea vond plaats op 13 januari 1917 nabij het Roemeense dorpje Ciurea gelegen aan de spoorlijn van Iaşi naar Bârlad. Bij de ontsporing kwam tussen de 600 en 1000 gewonde Russische soldaten en burgervluchtelingen om het leven. Het is een van de grootste spoorwegrampen aller tijden en een van verschillende andere zeer grote treinrampen aan het einde van de Eerste Wereldoorlog.
