Black Creek is a 13.0-mile-long (20.9 km) tributary of the St. Johns River. It is located in Clay County, Florida. Black Creek has two major tributaries; North Fork Black Creek and South Fork Black Creek. North Fork originates as an outflow from Kingsley Lake and flows north and then east through Camp Blanding and Jennings State Forest, meeting South Fork in Middleburg, Florida. North Fork Black Creek has Yellow Water Creek and Big Branch as its main tributaries. South Fork Black Creek is fed by areas of wetlands and numerous small streams. The confluence of North Fork Black Creek and South Fork Black Creek near Middleburg form the main channel of Black Creek.

Clay Hill is an unincorporated community in Clay County, Florida, United States. It is located in the northwest corner of the county and lies along County Road 218. It is a rural community that serves as a bedroom community for the surrounding areas, and home to several working farms. Agricultural products produced in Clay Hill include beef cattle, hay, and timber. Employers in the area include a sawmill, auto and small engine repair businesses, a welding and fabrication shop, a tree service, and one general and two convenience stores. The Clay County Historic Courthouse is a historic county courthouse in Green Cove Springs, Florida. The two-story brick building was built in 1889 and used until 1973. A historical marker commemorates its history. It is located at 915 Walnut Street as part of the county's Historic Triangle which includes the Clay County History Museum, Railroad Depot Display, Old County Jail and Archives Center. On June 20, 1975, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by Ellis and McClure. This historic location is home to Clay County Teen Court programs and is a venue for events such as mock trials, plays, swearing-in ceremonies, photo shoots and tours. The modern, fully operational Clay County Courthouse is a separate facility located at 825 North Orange Avenue in Green Cove Springs. Employees of the Clay County Clerk's Office (Clay County Clerk of Court Tara S. Green) oversee the operations of both locations' offices.

The cottage is the only surviving building of the Hibernia Winter Resort, a winter retreat that operated from the 1850s through 1940. The Ronnie Van Zant Memorial Park is a public memorial park located in Lake Asbury, Clay County, Florida. The park was built in memory of Ronnie Van Zant, vocalist of Southern rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd, who died along with numerous other band members and crew in a 1977 plane crash. The park was funded by fans and family of the band, and features a number of facilities including tennis courts, fishing ponds, a disc golf course and picnic areas, among other amenities.
