Watership Down is a down or hill in the civil parish of Ecchinswell, Sydmonton and Bishops Green in the English county of Hampshire. It forms part of the Hampshire Downs. It rises fairly steeply on its northern flank (the scarp side), but to the south the slope is much gentler (the dip side). The summit is 778 ft (237 m) above sea level, making it one of the highest points in Hampshire. The down's name derives from the farm of Watership, which lies north of Sydmonton. The etymon is Old English wætersċipe, meaning "conduit" or "artificial watercourse".

The Vyne is a Grade I listed 16th-century country house in the parish of Sherborne St John, near Basingstoke, in Hampshire, England. The house was first built circa 1500–10 in the Tudor style by William Sandys, 1st Baron Sandys, Lord Chamberlain to King Henry VIII. In the 17th century it was transformed to resemble a classical mansion. Today, although much reduced in size, the house retains its Tudor chapel, with contemporary stained glass. The classical portico on the north front was added in 1654 to the design of John Webb, a pupil of Inigo Jones, and is notable as the first portico in English domestic architecture.

Holy Ghost Church is a Roman Catholic church in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England. It was built from 1902 to 1903 by the priest and architect Alexander Scoles in the Gothic Revival style. It was named after the old ruined medieval Chapel of the Holy Ghost in the town. It is located on the corner of Chapel Hill and Sherborne Road, north of Basingstoke railway station near the town centre. According to Historic England, the church was "the last and best work" of Alexander Scoles. He is buried there and it is a Grade II listed building.

The parks and gardens are Grade I listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens and the main house is Grade II* listed on the National Heritage List for England. It was placed on the market in 2016 seeking offers of around £65 million. As of 2025, it remains for sale but now nominally as two expert restoration companies seeking a grant of planning permission for use as a hotel (sought in March 2025), instructed via the owners. Sydmonton Court is an English country house in Hampshire. Built and developed over the centuries, it is surrounded by a 5,000 acre estate, in the parish of Ecchinswell, Sydmonton and Bishops Green, near Watership Down. The house has been listed Grade II* on the National Heritage List for England since 1984, and St Mary's church within the estate is also Grade II* listed. It is owned by the composer & impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber and his wife, equestrian entrepreneur Madeleine Gurdon.
