The Rosedale Arch is dedicated to the men of Rosedale, a neighborhood district and former municipality on the southern edge of Kansas City, Kansas, who served in World War I. Inspired by the Arc de Triomphe, the Arch was designed by John LeRoy Marshall, a Rosedale resident, and dedicated in 1924. Located on Mount Marty, the flood-lighted arch is most easily visible at night from the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Southwest Boulevard. A historic marker was dedicated under the arch in 1993 to honor the soldiers of World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War.

The H.W. Gates Funeral Home is a historical landmark at 1901 Olathe Blvd in Kansas City, Kansas. Gates Funeral Home was established in the mid-1890s by Horatio W. and Mary Gates. That Gates family was among the first licensed embalmers in the state and they built this Neoclassical-style funeral home in 1922 to house their growing business. Designed by Architect Fred S. Wilson in 1922, it served as the Gates family residence as well as their place of business. The 2+1⁄2-story building was built in the Neoclassical style. The Gates Funeral Home was run by three generations over almost 100 years in the Rosedale neighborhood of Kansas City.

State Avenue is a stretch of roadway in Wyandotte County, Kansas. Its western terminus is at both US 73 and K-7 in Bonner Springs, Kansas and its eastern terminus at North 4th Street in downtown Kansas City, Kansas. Its western terminus continues at both US 24 and US 40, turning south through Tonganoxie. Parallel Parkway runs parallel approximately eighth tenths of a mile to the north nearly the length of the road.
The 7th Street Trafficway Bridge is a one level deck truss bridge over the Kansas River and BNSF Railway tracks on 7th Street. It was built in 1932. It connects the Armourdale district of Kansas City, Kansas, to the east end of the Argentine district of Kansas City, Kansas. In 1970, the bridge was resurfaced, repainted, and a new sister bridge was built. The new sister bridge is a two lane girder bridge that would now carry southbound lanes, making the deck truss bridge into a northbound bridge only.

The Kansas City Southern Bridge is a rail crossing of the Kansas River. It has two main spans, and a smaller span at the west end. It is a thru-truss, and closed to traffic. It was built in 1905, by the Kansas City Southern Railway, and was closed in 1983. The bridge's rails are cut off at each end. It survived the 1951 Kansas City flood. It is located about 100 feet (30 m) south of James Street over the Kansas River.

Verrückt (German meaning "crazy" or "insane", listen) was a water slide located at the Schlitterbahn Kansas City water park in Kansas City, Kansas, United States. At a height of 168 feet 7 inches (51.38 m), Verrückt became the world's tallest water slide when it opened on July 10, 2014, surpassing Kilimanjaro at Aldeia das Águas Park Resort in Brazil. The ride was designed at the park, led by John Schooley with assistance from park co-owner Jeff Henry. It was featured on an episode of Xtreme Waterparks on the Travel Channel in June 2014 shortly before the ride opened. Verrückt permanently closed in 2016 following a fatal incident involving the decapitation of Caleb Schwab, the 10-year-old son of Kansas state legislator (and later Secretary of State of Kansas) Scott Schwab.

Fort de Cavagnial (also known as Fort Cavagnolle, Fort Cavagnal, Post of the Missouri, or Fort de la Trinité) was a French fort and trading post located on the west cliffs of the Missouri River, somewhere north of Kansas City, Kansas, and Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, from 1744 until about 1764. While the ruins of the site were still visible when Meriwether Lewis and William Clark ventured in the area during their famed 1804 westward expedition, all traces of the fort were eventually lost by the mid-19th century. Today, the exact location of the fort is a mystery.

The A. Porter Davis Residence, also known as Castle Rock, is a historic house located at 852 Washington Boulevard in Kansas City, Kansas. The house was built in 1938 for Dr. A. Porter Davis, a prominent African-American physician. Davis began practicing medicine in Kansas City in 1913; as he could speak Spanish, he mainly focused on serving Mexican immigrants at first. In 1920, Davis founded a maternity hospital for unwed African-American women, a badly underserved patient population due to racial segregation. Davis later held several public health positions in Wyandotte County and became president of the National Medical Association in 1953. In addition to his medical career, Davis was one of the first African-Americans to obtain a pilot's license.

The I-670 Viaduct is an automobile crossing of the Kansas River, and West Bottoms in Kansas City, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri. It was built in 1990, and carries six lanes (three east, three west) of Interstate 670 through Kansas City. The bridge is also called the Jay B. Dillingham bridge. (Dillingham was the president of the Kansas City Stockyards) It is just north of the Missouri Pacific Bridge, and south of the Central Avenue Bridge (Kansas City) over the Kansas River.

The Argentine Bridge was a one lane, thru-truss bridge over the Kansas River in Kansas City, Kansas. It was built in 1908, and removed in 1959, after the 18th Street Expressway Bridge was built to the east of it. It was damaged in the flood of 1951, after being crushed by a large oil tanker that floated from a field near the Kansas Avenue Bridge (West). After the flood, it never reopened, but was left in place until the replacement bridge was built. Today, a fallen pier is all that remains of the bridge, when the water in the river is low, it can be seen from the 18th Street Expressway Bridge when going southbound.

The K-32 Turner Bridge was a bridge that crossed the Kansas River during its almost 60 mile journey through Kansas City, and Topeka. It first opened in 1955 as a two lane steel through-truss bridge. In 2001, the bridge was torn down, due to its major superstructure problems, and with the growing area, could no longer handle the traffic flow as a two lane. By late 2002, the through-truss was gone, and a new five lane girder was in place. The bridge now carries two lanes of eastbound traffic, and three lanes westbound. The Turner Bridge marks the beginning of the Turner Diagonal.

The Arabia is a side wheeler steamboat that sank in the Missouri River near what today is Kansas City, Kansas, on September 5, 1856. The boat sank after hitting a tree snag submerged in the river, and was rediscovered in 1988 by a team of local researchers. Artifacts recovered from the site are now housed in the Arabia Steamboat Museum.
