The school, with the boundary wall, was designated Grade II in May 1993. Original amateur excavations on the site in 1843, by J. Medhurst, were followed by a series of excavations in the 20th century suggesting that the site was in operation between c. AD 69–79 to the late 4th century.

The Ridgeway Hill Viking burial pit at Ridgeway Hill near Weymouth, Dorset, was a mass grave of 54 skeletons and 51 heads of Scandinavian men executed some time between AD 970 and 1025. The men are believed to have been Vikings executed by local Anglo-Saxons. The dismembered skeletons were discovered by archaeologists in June 2009, and their identity and approximate ages were later confirmed by forensic analyses. Although the immediate circumstances of the deaths is unknown, the event occurred at a time of conflict between the native Anglo-Saxons and Viking invaders, and it has been suggested that the Vikings had been captured during an attempted raid into Anglo-Saxon territory.

Melcombe Regis was a station on the Portland Branch Railway in the English county of Dorset. Opened in April 1909, it was sited at the north end of the bridge over Radipole Lake. The station was built to enable Portland branch passengers to go to Weymouth without the need for the branch train to reverse to enter Weymouth railway station. The branch junction was to the north of Weymouth station and faced Dorchester. The station was closed officially, along with the branch, on 3 March 1952. However, the station continued to be used for overflow from the adjacent Weymouth station, particularly on summer Saturdays: regularly until 12 September 1959 and irregularly for a while after that.

The quarry is operated by Albion Stone and became the site of the first Portland Stone mine. Easton railway station was the terminus of the Portland Branch Railway, which operated in the west of the English county of Dorset. Opened with the Easton and Church Hope Railway, one of the constituent parts of a complex line, on 1 September 1902, the line past Portland station was technically a separate railway, although the branch was operated as one line throughout. Easton was closed from 11 November 1940 to 1 January 1945 following air raid damage. Although the station closed to passengers in 1952 regular freight kept the line in use until 1965. The station was demolished in the 1970s.

Gloucester House or Gloucester Lodge is a former royal residence on the esplanade in the seaside resort of Weymouth on the south coast of England. It was the summer residence of Prince William Henry Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh (1743–1805), fourth son of Frederick, Prince of Wales, and brother of King George III. During his recovery from porphyria in 1789, George III spent some time convalescing there. The king occupied the right-hand part of the building, and had use of the garden, where the later, left wing stands. His doctors encouraged him to visit the resort to benefit from the sea air and salt water. The patronage of the king was important in drawing fashionable society to the south coast town.

Royal Naval Cemetery (once known as Naval and Military Cemetery) is a cemetery on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, England. The site overlooks Portland Harbour, and is found below the main entrance to the Verne Citadel (HM Prison The Verne). As the name suggests, the graveyard holds deceased servicemen and officers of Portland's Royal Navy which was stationed at the island until 1995. The cemetery holds 140 identified casualties in total to date, and is owned by the Ministry of Defence.

Rossi's is a traditional historic ice cream parlour in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, and Weymouth, Dorset, England. The Original Rossi's Ice Cream is located at 12–14 Western Esplanade, Southend-on-Sea. The Original Rossi ice cream company was brought to Southend on Sea in 1931 by Massimiliano Agostino Rossi, known as Agostino, and his wife Anna. His first shop was at 37 High Street Southend on Sea. Rossi Ice cream (Southend-on-Sea) Ltd is stated on companies house as being owned by Michael & Colin Gray who purchased The Original Rossi Ice Cream in 2007.
