The Kagitumba is a river on the border of Rwanda and Uganda part of the upper headwaters of the Nile. Mount Muhabura, also known as Mount Muhavura, is an inactive volcano in the Virunga Mountains on the Rwanda-Uganda border. At 4,127 metres (13,540 ft), Muhabura is the third highest of the eight major mountains of the mountain range, which is part of the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift. Its summit contains a small crater lake. The limited evidence for this volcano suggests that it last erupted some time in the Holocene, but the exact date is not known. The Smithsonian Institution states that a small parasitic crater near Muhabura had been active recently. Munsa is an archaeological site in Uganda, located in the south-eastern part of Bunyoro (0°49′30″N 31°18′00″E), and is commonly recognized by a rocky hill known by the locals as "Bikegete", which is enclosed within an earthworks system of ancient ditches. The site is approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) north-west of Kakumiro township in Bugangaizi County, Kakumiro District. "Munsa" is a Runyoro(Lunyoro/Runyoro Edited by Nicholas Aliganyira Nkuuna) name that means "in the trenches". The architects of the earthworks are unknown, although it has been speculated that the site can be linked to the Bachwezi. There is no evidence for this, however, and it seems likely that association of Munsa with the Bachwezi or Chwezi is a recent development.

Katoosa Martyrs Shrine (established in the 1960s) is a Ugandan Catholic martyrs shrine located in Katoosa parish in Kyenjonjo District. It is where St. Adolf Tibeyalirwa was abducted. It is also known as Katoosa Catholic Shrine, Katoosa shrine, Katoosa Parish shrine, Katoosa Martyrs villa, evil place full of rocks. It was established in the 1960s by Messenger Francis Kibira under the instructions of the Uganda Episcopal Conference.
Bwindi Community Hospital was founded in 2003 by Scott and Carol Kellermann. It began as an outreach clinic under a tree, and has grown into a 155-bed hospital providing health care and health education services to a population of over 100,000 people in Uganda. The hospital began with a special mission to help the Batwa pygmies who were displaced from the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest after it was made a National Park in 1991. Since leaving the forest many Batwa have lived in extreme poverty and are affected by the health issues that poverty brings.
