The German Diary Archive (abbreviated to DTA in German) in Emmendingen opened in 1998. It collects private diaries, memoirs, and correspondence; its current collections range from the late 18th century to the present. The archival collections are available for researchers and students, with some restrictions for privacy. As of August 2024, the archive's holdings include more than 27,000 personal documents of nearly 6,000 different authors.

Das Archivgut steht der Wissenschaft und interessierten Studierenden für Recherchen zur Verfügung. Zurzeit umfasst es mehr als 26.000 Zeitzeugnisse von knapp 6.000 Autoren (Stand März 2023).

El Deutsches Tagebucharchiv (traducido: archivo alemán de diarios) existe desde hace 1998 en Emmendingen, Baden-Wurtemberg, Alemania. Está situado en el viejo ayuntamiento de esta ciudad. Es la única institución de este tipo en Alemania.[1]​ Se archivan los diarios íntimos, cartas personales y memorias de cualquier persona. Cada uno puede entregar documentos personales de este tipo. No importa de que época son, del presente o del pasado más o menos lejano. Son coleccionados, leídos, archivados y registrados en una base de datos.[2]​
