Pláka (Greek: Πλάκα) is the old historical neighborhood of Athens, clustered around the northern and eastern slopes of the Acropolis, and incorporating labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture. Plaka is built on top of the residential areas of the ancient town of Athens. It is known as the "Neighborhood of the Gods" due to its proximity to the Acropolis and its many archaeological sites.
Η Πλάκα είναι συνοικία στο κέντρο της Αθήνας κάτω από την Ακρόπολη. Συνορεύει νότια με την συνοικία Μακρυγιάννη, ανατολικά με την περιοχή των Στύλων του Ολυμπίου Διός και του Ζαππείου, βόρεια με το εμπορικό κέντρο της Αθήνας και δυτικά με το Μοναστηράκι. Έχει χαρακτηριστεί παραδοσιακός οικισμός. Η Πλάκα είναι από τις λιγοστές συνοικίες της πόλης -αν όχι η μοναδική- η οποία κατοικείτο αδιάκοπα από την αρχαιότητα και ήταν εκτός άλλων το κέντρο των Αρχαίων Αθηνών. Η άμεση σύνδεση της περιοχής με το λαμπρό παρελθόν της Αρχαίας Αθήνας, η οποία γίνεται προφανής στον επισκέπτη από τα δεκάδες μνημεία που βρίσκονται διάσπαρτα σε αυτή την έχουν κάνει γνωστή -και όχι άδικα- ως τη Συνοικία των Θεών.
Området Plaka (grekiska: Πλάκα) är Atens historiska centrum. Här finns bara några få byggnader som är äldre än den osmanska perioden, men det är det äldsta området i staden som ännu är bebott. Det är beläget i anslutning till bland annat Akropolis.
