下甑島(しもこしきしま)は、東シナ海の甑島列島南部にある離島。鹿児島県薩摩川内市に属する。「甑島」の名は中甑島北部にある「甑」(蒸籠)の形をした巨石を甑大明神として崇拝したことに由来し、かつては子敷島、古志岐島とも書いた。
