The Hall of Fame for Great Americans is an outdoor sculpture gallery located on the grounds of Bronx Community College (BCC) in the Bronx, New York City. It was the first such hall of fame in the United States. Built in 1901 as part of the University Heights campus of New York University (NYU), the structure was designed by architect Stanford White to conceal a retaining wall for the Gould Memorial Library. The hall commemorates 102 prominent Americans, selected by a board of electors and grouped into one of fifteen categories. The physical structure consists of a loggia with colonnades measuring 630 feet (190 m) long. The colonnades contain niches with plaques and 96 bronze portrait busts.

El Salón de la Fama para Americanos Ilustres o Salón de la Fama para Estadounidenses Ilustres es una galería de esculturas al aire libre ubicada en los terrenos del Bronx Community College en el Bronx, Nueva York. Es el primer salón de la fama en los Estados Unidos. Completado en 1900 como parte del campus de Universidad Heights de la Universidad de Nueva York,[2]​ la columnata de piedra de 192 metros rodea la biblioteca de la universidad y alberga 98 bustos de bronce de varios estadounidenses prominentes.[3]​ Diseñada por el arquitecto Stanford White, quien también diseñó la biblioteca, la estructura de Beaux Arts fue donada por Helen Gould, y se inauguró formalmente el 30 de mayo de 1901.[4]​ La Universidad de Nueva York, bajo graves dificultades financieras, se vio obligada a vender el campus en 1973 a la Universidad de la Ciudad de Nueva York y se convirtió en el Bronx Community College.[5]​ Aunque el renombre del Salón se ha desvanecido, su arquitectura permanece y se erige como un santuario nacional secular no solo para los grandes hombres (y algunas mujeres), sino también para los ideales de fama romanos tan vigentes a principios del siglo XX.[6]​
