La plaza Mayor de Salamanca es un espacio urbano construido como plaza mayor que con el tiempo se ha convertido en el centro de la vida social de la ciudad española de Salamanca. Fue construida en el periodo que va desde el año 1729 al 1756, en estilo barroco. El diseño es del arquitecto Alberto Churriguera (pabellones Real y de San Martín) y posteriormente continuada por otros con pocas modificaciones respecto al proyecto inicial.[1]​ A comienzos del siglo XIX sufrió diversas remodelaciones urbanísticas, hasta que poco a poco a mediados del siglo XX fue desprovista de sus jardines, quiosco de música central y urinarios públicos para quedar diáfana. A la plaza, que cuenta con la consideración de Bien de Interés Cultural, Miguel de Unamuno la definió de la siguiente forma: «Es un cuadrilátero. Irregular, pero asombrosamente armónico».

The Plaza Mayor (English Main Plaza) is a large plaza located in the center of Salamanca, Spain used as a public square. It was built in the traditional Spanish baroque style and is a popular gathering area. It is lined by restaurants, ice cream parlors, tourist shops, jewelry stores and a pharmacy along its perimeter except in front of the city hall. It is considered the heart of Salamanca and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful plazas in Spain. It is connected to the shopping area Calle del Toro from the northeast, Calle de Zamora from the north, the restaurants on Calle de Concejo from the northwest, Calle del Prior and the small Calle de la Caja de Ahorros from the west as well as Plaza del Corrillo from the south.

De Plaza Mayor is het centrale plein van de Spaanse stad Salamanca. Het plein werd aangelegd tussen 1729 en 1755 in opdracht van Filips V van Spanje. Het barokke plein werd ontworpen door de familie Churriguera (Alberto de Churriguera en neef Manuel de Lara Churriguera) en afgwerkt door architect Andrés García de Quiñones. Het wordt omgeven door het stadhuis, winkels en horecazaken en is een centraal ontmoetingspunt.
