The Valbona Valley (Albanian: Lugina e Valbonës) is in the Albanian Alps in northern Albania. It is part of Alps of Albania National Park, one of the most impressive and notable topographic features of Albania. Being the southernmost continuation of the Dinaric Alps, it forms a section of the Alpine-Himalayan orogenic belt, which extend from the Atlantic Ocean to the Himalaya Mountains. The mountains are characterized by limestone and dolomite rocks and shows major karst features. Maja Jezercë sprawls to the west of the valley and is the highest mountain of the Dinaric Alps, with an altitude of 2,694 m (8,839 ft). The Valbona River originate from several karst springs along the south of Maja Jezercë and the east of Valbona Pass. It is the largest river within the Albanian Alps and drains the entire eastern portion of the range. Over the past few million years, glaciers have at times covered most of the park. During the Würm period, the glacier of Valbona reached a total length of 9.5 kilometres. Nowadays, there are two very small active glaciers close to the northeastern edge of Maja Jezercë.
Parku Kombëtar “Lugina e Valbonës” ka një sipërfaqe prej 8000 ha dhe konsiderohet si mrekullia e Alpeve Shqiptare. Ndodhet 25–30 km në veri-perëndim të qytetit të Bajram Currit, Rrethin e Tropojës. Shtrihet midis majash të larta e të thepisura të mbuluara me një kolorit fantastik ngjyrash në çdo stinë duke dhënë kështu imazhin e një lugine plot labirinte dhe të papritura.
Het nationaal park Valbonëdal (Albanees: Parku Kombëtar Lugina e Valbonës) was een nationaal park in de Albanese Alpen in Albanië. Het park werd opgericht in 1996 en beslaat 80 vierkante kilometer rond de dorpen Dragobi, Valbonë, Cerem en Rragam. Het landschap bestaat uit bergen, bossen (beuk, Bosnische den, Macedonische den, grove den, en valleien. Het nationaal park beschermt het bovenste deel van het Valbonëdal. Het langeafstandswandelpad Peaks of the Balkans Trail loopt door het gebied.
Le parc national de la vallée de Valbona (Lugina e Valbones) est situé au nord de l'Albanie à la frontière avec le Monténégro. Couvrant une superficie de 80 km2, il est déclaré parc national en 1996. Il englobe la rivière Valbona et ses environs avec un terrain montagneux, des paysages alpins, des sources glaciaires, des dépressions profondes, diverses formations rocheuses, des cascades et la vallée de Valbona avec ses conifères et forêt de feuillus. Il se caractérise par ses régions très reculées qui ont un vaste écosystème préservé resté principalement intact.
A Valbona-völgy Nemzeti Park (albán Parku Kombëtar Lugina e Valbonës) 1966-ban létrehozott, 8000 hektáron elterülő nemzeti park Albánia északi részén, az Albán-Alpok keleti vidékén, a Valbona folyó magashegyektől közrezárt szűk völgyében. Természeti értékeinek, vízeséseinek, barlangjainak, szurdokainak és gleccser vájta teknővölgyeinek köszönhetően – a Thethi Nemzeti Park mellett – az albániai hegyvidéki turizmus egyik legkedveltebb célpontja.
