Blauwgrond (Q1757538)

Blauwgrond is a resort in Suriname, located in the Paramaribo District. Its population at the 2012 census was 31,483. Blauwgrond started as a Javanese village to the north of Paramaribo. During the 1960s and 1970s, large scale building projects turned the village into a neighbourhood of Paramaribo, and is mainly known as the Javanese culinary centre with many warungs and restaurants. The resort was called Blauwgrond (English: Blue Ground), because the earth had a bluish colour.

Blauwgrond is een stadsressort en een van de 12 wijken van de Surinaamse hoofdstad Paramaribo. Het is de meest oostelijke gelegen wijk en ressort van de stad. De wijk ontleent zijn naam aan de blauwe zeeklei in de ondergrond.

സുരിനാമിലെ പരമാരിബൊ ജില്ലയിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു റിസോർട്ടാണ് ബ്ലൌവ്ഗ്രോംണ്ട്. 2012- ലെ സെൻസസിലെ ഇവിടത്തെ ജനസംഖ്യ 31,483 ആയിരുന്നു.പാരാമരിബോയുടെ വടക്ക് ഭാഗത്തുള്ള ഒരു ജാവനീസ് ഗ്രാമമായി ബ്ലൌവ്ഗ്രോംണ്ട് ആരംഭിച്ചു. 1960 കളിലും 1970 കളിലും വലിയ തോതിലുള്ള കെട്ടിട നിർമ്മാണ പദ്ധതികൾ ഗ്രാമത്തെ പാരാമാരിബോയുടെ സമീപപ്രദേശമാക്കി മാറ്റി.നിരവധി വാറംഗുകളും റെസ്റ്റോറന്റുകളോടൊപ്പം ഇത് പ്രധാനമായും ജാവാനീസ് പാചക കേന്ദ്രം എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. ഭൂമിക്കു നീലകലർന്ന നിറമുള്ളതിനാൽ റിസോർട്ടിനെ ബ്ലൌവ്ഗ്രോംണ്ട് (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: ബ്ലൌവ്ഗ്രോംണ്ട്) എന്നാണ് വിളിച്ചിരുന്നത്.
