The Telesterion ("Initiation Hall" from Gr. τελείω, "to complete, to fulfill, to consecrate, to initiate") was a great hall and sanctuary in Eleusis, one of the primary centers of the Eleusinian Mysteries. The hall had a fifty-five yard square roof that could cover three-thousand people, but no one revealed what happened during these events beyond there being "something done, something said, and something shown". This building was built in the 7th century BCE and was an important site until it was destroyed in the 4th century CE. Devoted to Demeter and Persephone, these initiation ceremonies were the most sacred and ancient of all the religious rites celebrated in Greece.

Telesterion (altgriechisch τελεστήριον „Ort der Einweihung“) bezeichnete im antiken Griechenland allgemein einen Mysterientempel oder einen Weiheort der eleusinischen Götter Demeter, Persephone und des Dionysos.
Il telestèrion (in greco τεληστήριον, luogo delle iniziazioni, da τελέω, esser portato a compimento, a perfezione, iniziato) è un edificio monumentale greco antico del santuario di Eleusi, in Attica, destinato alla celebrazione del complesso rituale dei misteri eleusini. Le evidenze archeologiche sono in accordo con le fonti letterarie, dimostrano cioè come le origini dell'edificio (insieme al culto che all'interno si celebrava) affondino le loro radici almeno nella piena età micenea. L'edificio è stato rimaneggiato più volte sino a raggiungere architettura stabile solo in età classica, quando il telesterion fu riedificato probabilmente da Ictino intorno al 445 a.C. e successivamente ultimato in età ellenistica con l'edificazione del portico da parte dell'architetto Filone.
