Hochstift Brandenburg (im Mittelalter Stift Brandenburg) ist eine moderne Bezeichnung für das weltliche Territorium der Bischöfe von Brandenburg, in dem sie als Fürstbischofe und somit Reichsfürsten herrschten, und dessen Verwaltung. Es war ein Herrschaftsgebiet des Heiligen Römischen Reichs. Residenzorte des Hochstifts waren die Burgen Brandenburg, Pritzerbe und Ziesar. 1571 wurde es aufgelöst. Es ist zu unterscheiden vom geistlichen Jurisdiktionsgebiet des Bistums Brandenburg und auch vom Domstift Brandenburg, dem Besitz des Domkapitels, und war auch nicht Teil der Mark Brandenburg, dem Herrschaftsgebiet des Markgrafen von Brandenburg.

The Prince-Bishopric of Brandenburg (German: Hochstift Brandenburg) was an ecclesiastical principality of the Holy Roman Empire from the 12th century until it was secularized during the second half of the 16th century. It should not be confused with the larger Diocese of Brandenburg (Latin: Dioecesis Brandenburgensis) established by King Otto I of Germany in 948, in the territory of the Marca Geronis (Saxon Eastern March) east of the Elbe river. The diocese, over which the prince-bishop exercised only spiritual authority, was a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Magdeburg, its seat was Brandenburg an der Havel.

El Bisbat de Brandenburg fou una diòcesi catòlica establerta per Otó I del Sacre Imperi Romanogermànic el 948, incloent-hi el territori entre l'Elba a l'oest, l'Oder a l'est, el Schwarze Elster al sud, i la Uckermark al nord. La seva seu era Brandenburg an der Havel. Una part de la diòcesi fou un estat del Sacre Imperi Romanogermànic sobre el qual el bisbe fou príncep-bisbe amb poder temporal, probablement des de vers 1161/1165, però mai va aconseguir guanyar control sobre un territori significatiu, sent eclipsat pel marcgraviat de Brandenburg, que tenia el seu centre a la mateixa ciutat. El Capítol i catedral, envoltada per altres institucions eclesiàstiques, estaven situats al Dominsel (illa Catedralicia), que formava un territori amb immunitat de domini episcopal en condició de prínceps-bisbes, diferenciat de la ciutat de Brandenburg. Només el 1929 l'antic districte episcopal es va incorporar a la ciutat mateixa.
