Karaağaç is a neighbourhood of the city Edirne, Edirne District, Edirne Province, northwestern Turkey. Its population is 3,062 (2022). It is situated at the border with Greece. Together with the village of Bosna, it is one of the two Turkish settlements in East Thrace situated on the right bank of the river Meriç, therefore within Western Thrace. Karaağaç is 4 km southwest from the center of Edirne, across the river Meriç and opposite the Greek village Kastanies. In 1890, the large Karaağaç railway station was built in the town, which also served Edirne, becoming the last train stop in Turkey to Europe. In 1971, Turkish State Railways (TCDD) constructed a new railway station at the opposite side of the river, abandoning the former one, which is now used as Trakya University's Faculty of Fine Arts.

Er liegt auf einem kleinen Teil des türkischen Territoriums, der als einziger auf dem rechten, westlichen Ufer der Mariza liegt, die hier ausnahmsweise nicht die Grenze zwischen der Türkei und Griechenland bildet. Karaağaç (Karaagach en français) est une localité de Turquie située sur la rive droite du fleuve Meriç (en grec Evros, en bulgare Maritza). Elle est éloignée de quelque 5 kilomètres d'Edirne, une ville du nord-ouest de la Turquie, implantée sur la rive gauche du fleuve. Un pont ottoman, Gazi Mihal köprüsü, enjambe le Meriç. Le triangle de Karaağaç, de quelques dizaines de kilomètres carrés, au nord-est de la Thrace occidentale se trouve en face du village grec de Kastaniés.
