Das Rolfsche Riesenfernrohr in Rathenow ist ein Schupmann-Medial-Fernrohr und mithin streng genommen kein Refraktor, wie sein Konstrukteur Edwin Rolf selbst sagt, sondern ein Hybrid aus Spiegel- und Linsenfernrohr. Zumindest war dies das Konzeptionsziel von Ludwig Schupmann (1899).
