La chiesa di Santa Maria del Carmine è uno dei maggiori luoghi di culto cattolici di Pavia ed è un esempio notevole di gotico lombardo. Fu iniziata nel 1374 e la sua costruzione proseguì lentamente anche per una interruzione dovuta agli impegni economici dei Visconti per la contemporanea costruzione della Certosa; fu ripresa nel 1432 ed ultimata infatti solo nel 1461, mentre la facciata fu completata nel 1490. Restaurata fra il 2006 e il 2010.

Santa Maria del Carmine is a church in Pavia, Lombardy, northern Italy, considered amongst the best examples of Lombard Gothic architecture. It was begun in 1374 by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, Duke of Milan, on a project attributed to Bernardo da Venezia. The construction followed a slow pace, and was restarted in 1432, being finished in 1461.
