Marquard is a small farming town in the Free State province of South Africa that serves Winburg in the northwest. The town was set up in 1905 by an influential Dutch Reform minister, JJ Marquard, with the help of Christoffel Cornelis Froneman, the commandant of the Orange Free State. It was established on the farm Varschfontein and attained municipal status in the same year.

Marquard is 'n dorp in die Oos-Vrystaat van Suid-Afrika, wat in 1905 op die plaas Varschfontein gestig is. Die dorp is genoem na 'n NG predikant, ds. J.J.T. Marquard, wat vroeër 'n brief aan die provinsiale regering gerig het om 'n dorp op die plaas uit te lê. Die kenmerkendste gebou in Marquard is die Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerkgebou, wat in 1926 voltooi is. Die gebou is van sandsteen gebou en ontwerp deur die argitekte Wynand Louw en Gerard Moerdijk.
