Ο Ναός της Παναγίας Παναξιώτισσας βρίσκεται περίπου 2 χιλιόμετρα έξω από το χωριό της Αιτωλοακαρνανίας Τρίκορφο και αποτελεί ένα από τα σημαντικότερα αξιοθέατα της περιοχής. Πρόκειται για το καθολικό ενός βυζαντινού μοναστηριού. Η προέλευση του προσωνυμίου «Παναξιώτισσα», που είναι πιθανότατα μοναδικό στον ορθόδοξο χώρο, δεν είναι ξεκάθαρη. Από πολλούς ερμηνεύεται ως «Αυτή που αξιώθηκε των πάντων», ενώ άλλοι θεωρούν ότι οφείλεται σε παράφραση του τοπωνυμίου της θέσης του ναού (Πανακτζή – Πανακτζιώτισσα – Παναξιώτισσα). Από το ναό έχει πάρει και το όνομά του ο πολιτιστικός σύλλογος του χωριού «Προοδευτικός Εξωραϊστικός Σύλλογος Γαβρολίμνης Παναγία Παναξιώτισσα».
