Chanchalguda Central Jail, located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, is one of the oldest jails in the country. The jail is in the old city of Hyderabad at Chanchalguda. It was constructed during the reign of the Nizam of the Hyderabad State, and remains operational today.
చంచల్‌గూడ జైలు, తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం, హైదరాబాదులోని చంచల్‌గూడలో ఉంది.దీనిని సెంట్రల్ జైలు అనిఅంటారు. చంచల్‌గూడలో ఉన్నందున దీనికి అదేపేరు స్థిరపడింది.తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర జైళ్ల శాఖ పరిధిలో దీని పాలనా నిర్వహణ సాగుతుంది. పెద్దమనుషుల ఒప్పందం కుదిరి, 1956 నవంబరు 1 న ఆధికారికంగా ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రం ఏర్పడింది.1956 నవంబర్ 1 న జరిగిన రాష్ట్రాల పునర్వ్యవస్థీకరణ తరువాత ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్ర జైళ్ల విభాగం ఉనికిలోకి వచ్చింది.ప్రారంభంలో జైళ్ల శాఖలో కొన్ని సెంట్రల్ జైళ్లు, జిల్లా జైళ్లు,సబ్ జైళ్లు మాత్రమే ఉండేవి.న్యాయవ్యవస్థ నియంత్రణ నుండి సబ్ జైళ్ల పరిపాలనను జైళ్ల శాఖకు బదిలీ చేయడానికి 1976 లో ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకున్న విధాన నిర్ణయాన్ని అనుసరించి, జైళ్ల విభాగం తనను తాను ఒక ప్రధాన విభాగంగా విస్తరించబడింది.
