The Limón Dam, part of the Olmos Transandino Project, is a multi-purpose concrete-face rock-fill embankment dam on the Huancabamba River in northwestern Peru, located to the south of Guabal. The project helps produce 4,000 gigawatt-hours (14,000 TJ) of electricity per year and transfer water from the Cajamarca region west to Lambayeque, near Olmos for the reclamation and irrigation of 43,500 hectares (107,000 acres) of farmland. The greatest feature and engineering challenge of the project was digging the 20-kilometre (12 mi) trans-Andean tunnel as it connects the Atlantic side of the Andes (Amazon basin) with the Pacific side.
La presa Limón, que forma parte del Proyecto Especial Olmos, en la Departamento de Lambayeque, en el norte del Perú, la hidroelectricidad es uno de usos múltiples y la presa. Cuando esté terminada, la represa producirá 4.000 GWh de electricidad y la transferencia de agua desde el río Huancabamba en la región al oeste de Cajamarca a Lambayeque, hacia la Pampa de Olmos, permitiendo el riego de 150.000 hectáreas de tierras de cultivo.
Die Talsperre Limón (span. Presa Limón) befindet sich am Fluss Río Huancabamba in der Region Cajamarca in Nord-Peru. Die Talsperre wurde im Rahmen des Olmos-Bewässerungsprojektes 2006–2009 errichtet. Der 43 m hohe und 320 m lange Steinschüttdamm mit Betonabdeckung (CFR-Damm) staut den Fluss auf einer Länge von bis zu 8 km auf. Das Speichervolumen liegt bei 44 Mio. m³.
