Summary from English
Wikipedia (enwiki)
Tuam (; Irish: Tuaim [ˈt̪ˠuəmʲ], meaning 'mound' or 'burial-place') is a town in Ireland and the second-largest settlement in County Galway. It is west of the midlands of Ireland, about 35 km (22 mi) north of Galway city. Humans have lived in the area since the Bronze Age while the historic period dates from the sixth century. The town became increasingly important in the 11th and 12th centuries in political and religious aspects of Ireland. The market-based layout of the town and square indicates the importance of commerce.
Summary from An Ghaeilge / Irish
Wikipedia (gawiki)
Baile i dtuaisceart Chontae na Gaillimhe is ea Tuaim (Tuam as Béarla). Tuaim dá Ghualainn a ainm iomlán, agus tugtar Tuaim Fheichín air chomh maith in onóir an naoimh. Bhí sé ceangailte le Baile Átha an Rí tráth, gur dúnadh an traein a thaisteal as Baile Átha an Rí go Maigh Eo agus Sligeach. Tá dhá ardeaglais sa bhaile, ceann na hEaglaise Caitlicí agus ceann Eaglais na hÉireann. Tá aithne mór freisin ar Choláiste Iarlaithe, a dtéadh líon mór scoláirí meánscoile as an ndeoise mór seo chuige, ach ó 2005 i leith ní bheidh ann ach scoil lae.
