Voortrekker High School is a school in the Western Cape. The school first opened as an Afrikaans language school for white students in 1934 and was the first such school in the Southern Suburbs area of Cape Town. In 1992 the school was opened to students of all races and became a dual English and Afrikaans language school in 2003. In 2012, due to the declining number of Afrikaans speakers in the Southern Suburbs, the school became an English language medium school only. Originally named the Simon van der Stel Secondary School the name was likely changed to Voortrekker High around 1938.

Die Hoërskool Voortrekker in die Kaapstadse voorstad Kenilworth is 'n voormalige Afrikaansmedium hoërskool wat tans (2016) onderrig in Engels bied aan 598 leerders (569 in 2014, 190 meer as in 2010 en 221 meer as in 2008). Die verhouding van Afrikaanse tot Engelse leerders was in 2010 sowat 1:2. Die tendens was egter dat die Afrikaanse leerders minder en die Engelse leerders meer word sodat daar in 2014 net 34 leerders was wat Afrikaansmoedertaal geneem het en net in die hoogste twee grade. Vroeg in 2016 is Afrikaans Huistaal afgeskaf. Van die 612 leerders wat begin 2016 aan die skool ingeskryf het, het nog net 18 in gr. 12 Afrikaans Huistaal geneem maar dis blykbaar kort daarna afgeskaf. Dié neiging het ook voorgekom by die Hoërskool Groote Schuur in Nuweland, wat sedert die invoer van Engels as onderrigmedium uitsluitlik Engels geword het en die Hoërskool Zwaanswyk in Retreat, wat sedert 2007 ook parallelmedium geword het.
