M5 motorway (Q1824663)

The M5 is a motorway in England linking the Midlands with the South West. It runs from junction 8 of the M6 at West Bromwich near Birmingham to Exeter in Devon. Heading south-west, the M5 runs east of West Bromwich and west of Birmingham through Sandwell Valley. It continues past Bromsgrove (and from Birmingham and Bromsgrove is part of the Birmingham Motorway Box), Droitwich Spa, Worcester, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, Bristol, Portishead, Clevedon, Weston-super-Mare, Bridgwater, Taunton, Tiverton, Cullompton, before terminating at junction 31 to the south of Exeter. At a total length of 163 miles (262 km), the M5 is the 4th longest motorway in the UK.

L'autoroute M5 est une autoroute du Royaume-Uni. Elle commence à Birmingham et relie les villes de Worcester, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol et Taunton. Elle termine à Exeter, à la jonction avec la route A38. Cette autoroute est l'axe principal pour le trafic de l'Angleterre du Sud-Ouest. Elle comporte généralement six voies de circulation, sauf certaines petites sections qui en ont huit, comme c'est le cas à proximité d'Avonmouth.

Der M5 motorway (englisch für ‚Autobahn M5‘) ist eine Autobahn in England. Sie verläuft von der M6 bei Great Barr am Rande von Birmingham nach Exeter in der Grafschaft Devon und ersetzt weitgehend die A-Straße A38. Am Autobahnende bei Exeter teilt sich die Autobahn in A30 nach Okehampton und Cornwall und A38 nach Plymouth und Torquay. Die M5 ist die Hauptverkehrsachse in Englands Südwesten und ist deshalb vor allem im Sommer sehr belastet.
