The Erzen (Albanian definite form: Erzeni) is a river in central Albania. The 109 km (68 mi) long Erzen has a 760 km2 (290 sq mi) catchment area, including the southern Tirana District and eastern Durrës District.

Zgërdhesh is an archeological site in Albania. It is located south of the road from Fushë-Kruja to Kruja. Zgërdhesh is somewhat of a mystery because it is unmentioned in ancient sources. Some scholars believe, however, that it may be the site of ancient Albanopolis, referred to by Ptolemy. The Illyrian settlement here seems to have been founded in the 7th or 6th century BC and flourished in the 4th and 3rd centuries, before being abandoned in the 2nd century BC, when the inhabitants moved to Durrës and Lezha.

Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës (Albanian: Universiteti "Aleksandër Moisiu" Durrës; initialism: UAMD), also Aleksandër Moisiu University or University of Durrës, is the newest public academic institution of the Republic of Albania. The University is located in the ancient city of Durrës. The university was founded on 20 December 2005 by the Albanian Government. It was inaugurated in 2006 and is using the American system of education, unlike the rest of the public universities in the country. More than 1,300 students started classes as of 2 October 2006. University of Durrës took its name from Austrian-Italian actor Aleksandër Moisiu, who was of Albanian descent. The rector is Prof. Dr. Shkëlqim Fortuzi.
The National History Museum "Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu" (Albanian: Muzeu Historik Kombëtar "Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu"), also known as the Skanderbeg Museum or the Kruja Museum, is located in Krujë and is one of the most important and visited museums in Albania. The museum was built at the end of the 1970s and was inaugurated on November 1, 1982. Its architecture was designed by architects Pirro Vaso and Pranvera Hoxha (the daughter of Enver Hoxha). Construction works were realized by a local team managed by Robert Kote. The museum has the character of a memorial, architecturally inspired by traditional Albanian stone towers and medieval Romanesque architecture. The name of the museum is in the honor of the Albanian national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbej.
Dyrrhachion (Latin: Dyrrhachium; Ancient Greek: Δυρράχιον), originally founded as Epidamnos (Ancient Greek: Ἐπίδαμνος, Albanian: Epidamn), was a prominent city on the Adriatic coast, located in the territory of the Illyrian Taulantii and corresponding to modern Durrës, Albania. Founded around 627 BC by settlers from Corinth and Corcyra (modern Corfu), the city developed into a major political, commercial, and military hub. While established as a Greek colony, Epidamnos stood within Taulantii territory and long remained entangled with Illyrian power, before becoming a key Roman and later Byzantine stronghold.
Adriatik Hotel is a hotel near Durrës, Albania. This is the main tourist hotel in Durrës, located on the long sandy beach to the south. With origins tracing back to 1957, it contains 70 rooms and was built during the Stalin era. An early reference to the facilities is contained in an article written for The Atlantic in 1963 by journalist James Cameron. By the time Philip Ward, author of Albania: A Travel Guide, visited in 1982 each bedroom was en suite but was still basic.

The Basilica of Saint Michael (Albanian: Bazilika e Shën Mëhillit) is a former basilica dedicated to Saint Michael, located in Arapaj, Durrës. Its ruins have been declared a Cultural Monument of Albania. The Basilica of Saint Michael is an early Palaeo-Christian church which is believed to date to the 5th or 6th century. A mosaic unearthed in the basilica also demonstrates how ingrained Christian culture later was with the early Byzantine Empire.

The Archaeological Museum of Durrës (Albanian: Muzeu Arkeologjik i Durrësit) in Durrës, Albania, established in 1951, is the largest archaeological museum in the country. The museum is located near the beach and north of the museum are the 6th-century Byzantine walls, constructed after the Visigoth invasion of 481. The 1997 rebellion in Albania saw the museum seriously damaged and looted.
Durrës railway station (Albanian: Stacioni hekurudhor i Durrësit) is the main railway station serving the port city of Durrës in central Albania, the second most populous city of the Republic of Albania. It is located in the city centre, near the local port, at the intersection of Rruga Adria and Rruga Egnatia. There is also a station for intercity buses in front of the railway station building. The station is the hub of the Albanian railway network, and is connected by rail to other cities in Albania, including the capital of Tirana, Vlorë, Elbasan and Shkodër. It is located in the city centre, close to the Port of Durrës.

Ishëm Castle (Albanian:Kalaja e Ishmit) is a castle in Ishëm, Durrës County, Albania. It is located on a hill above the river Ishëm. It was built from 1572 to 1574 by Ottomans to stop the peasant rebellions. The Albanian painter Ibrahim Kodra was buried in front of it.

Mafsheq is a village located in the Durrës County, in Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Krujë. Historically the village of Mafsheq has been part of Kurbin District. Mafsheq is separated from Kruje region by Shkreta creek (Albanian: prroji i Shkretes) and the famous Weeping Gorge (Albanian: Gryka e vajes), where after the fall of the city of Kruja to the Ottomans in the 14th century AD, about ninety ethnic Albanian women jumped from a nearby cliff to their death.

At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Krujë. It is the site of Tirana International Airport, which is about 18 kilometres (11 mi) away from Tirana.
The ruins of St. Anthony Church (Albanian: Kisha e Shën Ndojt) is located at Rodon Cape (alternatively known as Skanderbeg Cape) in Durrës County, is a Cultural Monument of Albania. It became a Cultural Monument in 1963. It is also the location where Andrea II Muzaka and his wife Euphemia Mataranga got married most likely around 1328, then buried later on.
