Lake Nar (Turkish: Nar or Narlı Gölü) is a brackish lake situated on the borderline between Aksaray Province and Niğde Province of central Turkey (38°20′24.43″N 34°27′23.69″E altitude:1,363 metres (4,472 ft) AMSL). It is around 21 metres deep and 0.7 square kilometres in area. The lake basin formed as a result of volcanic activity; specifically it is classed as a maar lake. There is still geothermal activity in the area, which has given rise to hot springs around the lake. In recent years, the geothermal waters have been pumped up to nearby hotels for use in their hot baths.

Koyunlu-Küçükköy, Fesleğen-Karanlıkdere köyü arası, Gebere Barajı üstü, Keten Çimeni bunlardan birkaçıdır. Kuzey eteklerindeki ovaları sulayan Melendiz Suyu ile diğer akarsuları besler. Volkanik yapılı dağın en yüksek yeri 2.898 metredir. Güneydeki Niğde-Bor düzlükleri ile kuzeydeki Çiftlik (Melendiz) Ovası arasında kuş uçuşu yaklaşık 24 km.'yi bulan bir volkanik yayılışa sahiptir. Batıya doğru uzantısı olan Keçiboyduran Dağı (2727 m.) ve kuzeye doğru uzantısı olan Göllü Dağ volkanik ünitesi (2172 m.) ile beraber dikkate alındığında İç Anadolu Bölgesi'nin en geniş yayılışa sahip volkanik ünitesi olduğu söylenebilir. Melendiz Dağı kütlesi Akdeniz üzerinden Gülek Boğazı koridoru boyunca sokulan nemli Hava kütlelerini karşılamakta ve İl Merkezi ile Altunhisar Bor Çiftlik İlçesi civarına orografik yağışların düşmesine sebep olmaktadır. Özellikle Çiftlik ilçesi Melendiz Dağı yükseltileri arasında bulunması nedeniyle bu orografik yağışlardan daha çok etkilenmekte ve çevresindeki geniş ovalık alanlara göre daha yağışlı ve serin bir mikroklimaya sahip olmaktadır.
