The Paradise Fossil Plant is a dual coal-fired power plant and natural gas power plant operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Located just east of Drakesboro, Kentucky, it is the largest megawatt capacity power plant in Kentucky. The coal unit has a capacity of 1.15-gigawatts (1,150 MW) and the natural gas units have a capacity of 1.02-gigawatts (1,025 MW). The plant originally consisted of three coal units. Units 1 and 2 were retired in 2017, and replaced with the natural gas units, and Unit 3 is expected to close in 2020.

The town was located 10.5 miles east-north-east of Greenville and was formerly called Stom's Landing (sometimes incorrectly spelled Stum). It was once a trading post along the Green River, but it no longer exists. It was torn down in 1967 by the Tennessee Valley Authority due to health concerns over its proximity to a nearby coal-burning electric plant, Paradise Fossil Plant.

The Muhlenberg County Courthouse, located in Courthouse Square in Greenville, is the center of government of Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Built in 1907, the courthouse was Muhlenberg County's third permanent courthouse since the county's creation in 1798. Louisville-based architects Kenneth McDonald, Sr., and William J. Dodd - among the most prominent architects in the region at the turn of the 20th century - designed the courthouse. Their Beaux-Arts design features an recessed entrance pavilion set atop a flight of ten stairs and topped by a portico - which exhibits elements of the Neoclassical style - supported by columns. The building is topped by a Baroque octagonal cupola with a clock face on four sides. The interior floor plan is symmetrical.
