Crook Log (Q146231)
Summary from English Wikipedia (enwiki)

Crook Log is a locality around Watling Street (A207) within the London Borough of Bexley. It lies at the western edge of Bexleyheath along the boundary with Welling. All three places merge with no clear separation points. Crook Log is approximately 10.9 miles (17.5 km) east south-east of Charing Cross, the traditional centre of London. Key landmarks are the Crook Log Inn, now a licensed restaurant, on the southern side of the A207 and a sports centre on the northern side. In 2005 the Crook Log leisure centre was expanded to include an eight–lane 25 metre indoor swimming pool, a teaching pool and changing facilities. The new centre was opened by Her Majesty the Queen on 26 July 2005. An existing and long established swimming pool across the road, at that time known as Splashworld, was then demolished. The site was redeveloped with 52 apartments and the complex was named "The Old Baths". Other nearby public amenities include a youth centre and an adult education centre. Also in the area are Crook Log Primary School and The Crook Log guest house. An amateur theatre called the Edward Alderton Theatre is in Crook Log. Actor Roger Moore and world heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis are former residents of this area.

Ruxley (Q121626)
Summary from English Wikipedia (enwiki)

Ruxley is a small settlement in southeast London, England, with no present formal boundaries. It is located 21 km (13 mi) southeast by east of Charing Cross, in the northeast corner of the London Borough of Bromley on the borough boundary with the southeast corner of the London Borough of Bexley, and is also adjacent to the Greater London border with Kent, overlapping into the Sevenoaks District and Borough of Dartford in Kent. Ruxley lies east of Sidcup and west of Swanley, on green belt land, where two main roads pass through east-west connecting London to the coast. Ruxley was a parish prior to 1557 and had its own thirteenth century church, St Botolph's. Ruxley's central location on the main road made it an important meeting place for the Hundred of Ruxley, which was named after it. Today still a major transport route, Ruxley's location on green belt land is on the edge of London's urban sprawl, industrial and residential areas are found on the west side, but to the east this quickly turns into more rural woodland and farmland. Ruxley Gravel Pits is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest located on the west side of Ruxley. Today the area is known for Ruxley Manor, a large site with a garden centre and other retailers and services.
