Η Μονή Αρετίου είναι ορθόδοξο μοναστήρι το οποίο βρίσκεται στην Κοινότητα Καρυδίου Μιραμπέλλου του Δήμου Αγίου Νικολάου και της τέως Επαρχίας Μιραμπέλλου, στην ανατολική Κρήτη, κοντά στο χωριό Καρύδι . Είναι αφιερωμένη στην Αγία Τριάδα.
Milatus or Milatos (Ancient Greek: Μίλατος), also known as Miletus or Miletos (Μίλητος), was a town on the north coast of ancient Crete. It is mentioned by Homer in the Catalogue of Ships of the Iliad. This town, which no longer existed in the time of Strabo, was looked upon by some writers as the mother-city of the Ionian colony Miletus.

Praesus or Praisos (Ancient Greek: Πραῖσος), also Prasus or Prasos (Πρᾶσος), was a Greek city in ancient Crete. Strabo reports that it belonged to the Eteocretes, and contained the temple of the Dictaean Zeus, for Mount Dicte was in the territory of Praesus. Strabo reports Praesus as lying between the promontories Samonium and Chersonesus, at a distance of 60 stadia from the sea, and close to Mount Dicte. However, Strabo confuses Praesus with Priansus, when he says it bordered upon the territory of Leben, and was distant 70 stadia from the sea, and 180 from Gortyn.

Neapoli (Greek: Νεάπολη) is a small town and a former municipality in Lasithi, eastern Crete, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it has been treated as a municipal unit of Agios Nikolaos. The municipal unit has an area of 130.450 km2 (50.367 sq mi). It is located 12 kilometres (7 miles) west from Agios Nikolaos in the green valley of Mirabello. The surrounding area is mountainous and home to a collection of native olive trees. Neapoli is a traditional Cretan town with narrow streets and cobbled roads. The Cathedral of the Virgin Mary (Megali Panagia) is located on the central square.
Dreros (Ancient Greek: Δρῆρος), also (representing Modern Greek pronunciation) Driros, near Neapoli in the regional unit of Lasithi, Crete, is a post-Minoan archaeological site, 16 km (10 mi) northwest of Agios Nikolaos. Known only by a chance remark of the 9th-century Byzantine grammarian Theognostus (De orthographia), archaeology of the site shows Dreros to have been initially colonised by mainland Greeks in the early Archaic Period about the same time as Lato and Prinias.
