Prieska is a town on the south bank of the Orange River, in the province of the Northern Cape, in western South Africa. It is located on the southern bank of the Orange River, 130 km north-west of Britstown and 75 km south-east of Marydale.

Die Ongersrivier is 'n rivier van die Bo-Karoo, en 'n sytak van die Brakrivier wat naby Prieska in die Oranjerivier loop. Die Ongersrivier word soms standhoudend genoem, en na wolkbreuke is dit inderdaad 'n breë, sterk rivier. Tydens somerdroogtes is die bogrondse waterstand en -vloei egter beperk. Die rivier ontspring naby Richmond, waar die Wilgersloot en Bulbergspruit bolope daarvan is. Die Wilgersloot word deur drie fonteine gevoed, en Driefontein, die plaas waarop Richmond aangelê is, is hierna vernoem. Stroomaf word die rivier deur verskillende fonteine gevoed, wat in vroeëre tye onder riviersand verberg was, maar meer onlangs deur erosie blootgestel is. Die Ongers vloei aanvanklik noordweswaarts, verby Merriman, voor dit noord swenk en deur die Israelspoort wes van Britstown vloei. Hier word dit in die Smartt-sindikaatdam opgedam, en vloei dan sowat 50 km noordwaarts, naby Biega se Berg (1 102 m), in die Brakrivier.
Marydale is a town in the Northern Cape province in western South Africa. Established in 1903 by the Dutch Reformed Church, Marydale was named after Mary Snyman, the wife of Mr GP Snyman, owner of the farm on which the town was laid out. The town is 76 km north-west of Prieska and lies near the N10 national road.
The Prieska–Total Solar Power Station, also Mulilo Prieska Solar Power Station, is an 86 megawatts solar power plant in South Africa. The solar farm was developed and is owned by a consortium comprising five independent power producers (IPPs), development finance companies and private investment firms. The power station owners formed a special purpose vehicle (SPV) company called Mulilo Prieska PV (RF), to design, finance, construct, own, operate and maintain the power station and related infrastructure. The off-taker of the energy generated here is Eskom Holdings, the public electricity utility parastatal of South Africa. A 20-year power purchase agreement between Murillo Prieska PV and Eskom, governs the sale and purchase of electricity between the power station and the electric utility.
