Carlow

The Battle of Carlow took place in Carlow town, Ireland on 25 May 1798 when Carlow rebels rose in support of the 1798 rebellion which had begun the day before in County Kildare. The United Irishmen organisation in Carlow led by a young brogue-maker named Mick Heydon who had taken over the leadership following the arrest of the previous leader, Peter Ivers, who was arrested with several other leading United Irishmen at Oliver Bond's house in March of that year, had assembled on the night of the 24th and set off at dawn to attack the county town. Picking up more volunteers along the way, their numbers swelled to around 1,200 they marched completely unopposed.

St. Leo's College is a girls' secondary school in Carlow, County Carlow, Ireland that was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1839.

County Carlow Military Museum (Irish: Iarsmalinn Mhíleata Chontae Cheatharlach) is a museum dedicated to the military history of County Carlow and its people. It is located in the former church on the grounds of St. Dympna's Hospital in Carlow town.

The Institute of Technology, Carlow (IT Carlow; Irish: Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Cheatharlach) was an institute of technology, located in Carlow, Ireland. The institute had campuses in Carlow, Wexford, and Wicklow, as well as a part-time provision elsewhere in Ireland. Along with the Waterford Institute of Technology, the institute was dissolved on 1 May 2022 and was succeeded by the South East Technological University.

Graiguecullen GFC are a Gaelic Athletic Association club from County Laois, Ireland. The club played in Carlow for many years but in 1926 they were suspended. The club then chose to play in Laois and have been doing so ever since.

The Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin (; Latin: Dioecesis Kildarensis et Leighlinensis; Irish: Deoise Chill Dara agus Leithghlinn) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in eastern Ireland. It is one of three suffragan dioceses in the ecclesiastical province of Dublin and is subject to the Archdiocese of Dublin. On 7 May 2013, Denis Nulty was appointed bishop of the diocese.
