The church is under E.A.E Arch Diocese, (Malayalam: പൗരസ്ത്യ സുവിശേഷ സമാജം) the first missionary association of Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, and is currently under the direct control of Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church. In 2006, the church was elevated to the status of "Marian Pilgrim Centre", and in 2018, it celebrated its diamond jubilee. It is the first church to adopt the 8 Day Lent in Malabar Region.

Thirunelli Temple (also spelled Tirunelli) is an ancient temple dedicated to Maha Vishnu on the side of Brahmagiri hill in Kerala, India, near the border with Karnataka state. The temple is classified one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition. The temple is at an altitude of about 900m in north Wayanad in a valley surrounded by mountains and forests. It is 32 km away from Manathavady.

Kozhikode - Wayanad Tunnel or Anakkampoyil -Kalladi - Meppadi Tunnel is a twin-tube tunnel road project in the South Indian state of Kerala. The proposed tunnel, which is being described as the third longest underpass in India would run through the sensitive hills and forests of the Western Ghats. It would provide an alternate route between Kozhikode and Wayanad and will reduce the distance between Anakkampoil and Meppady from 42 kilometres to less than 20 kilometres. The tunnel road is also expected to lead to a better economic growth and development in the region. Once the construction is completed, the distance between Calicut and Bangalore would be shortened, and the districts of Wayanad and Kozhikode will be linked without crossing the Thamarassery Churam. Konkan Railway was appointed as SPV for tunnel project by Kerala Government. On 2024 September, Konkan Railway opened tenders for project and out of 7 bids Dilip Buildcon Limited awarded the project for INR 1341 crore with a construction period of 4 years. Approach Bridge at Iruvanjippuzha tender awarded to Punia Construction Company at 73.86 crores. Tunnel Construction officially started on 31 August 2025 by Kerala CM, Pinarayi Vijayan. It is anticipated a 4 lane bypass to existing Thamaraserry Ghat of NH 766 of Kozhikode - Muthanga - Mysore road will come through this Tunnel.

The 2024 Wayanad landslides were a series of landslides that occurred in Punjirimattom, Mundakkai, Chooralmala, and Vellarimala villages in Meppadi panchayat, Vythiri taluk in Wayanad district, Kerala, India in the early hours of 30 July 2024. The landslides were caused by heavy rains that caused hillsides to collapse onto the areas below. The disaster was one of the deadliest in Kerala's history, with reports of 254 fatalities, 397 injuries, and 118 people missing. Deforestation, seismic sensitivity, poor building construction, and global warming have been identified as possible causes for the landslides and fatalities.

വയനാട്‌ ജില്ലയിൽ പുൽപ്പള്ളി പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ ഒരു പുരാതനമായ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് സീതാദേവി-ലവ-കുശ ക്ഷേത്രം. കേരളത്തിൽ സീതാദേവിയും ലവ - കുശൻമാരും പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായിട്ടുള്ള അപൂർവ്വം ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം. രാമായണത്തിലെ നായികയും സാക്ഷാൽ മഹാലക്ഷ്മിയുടെ അവതാരവുമാണ് സീത എന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. സീതാ രാമായണത്തിലെ മുഖ്യ കഥാപാത്രവും മഹാദേവിയായ സീതയാണ്. രാമായണ മഹാകാവ്യവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടുള്ള നിരവധി സ്ഥലങ്ങൾ പുൽപ്പള്ളിയിലും പരിസര പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലുമുണ്ട്. ത്രേതായുഗത്തി ശ്രീരാമനാൽ പരിത്യക്തയായ സീതാദേവി പുൽപ്പള്ളിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചേർന്നുവെന്നും വാല്മീകി മഹർഷിയാൽ കണ്ടെത്തപ്പെട്ട ദേവി ലവ - കുശന്മാർക്ക് വാല്മീകി ആ ശ്രമത്തിൽ വച്ച് ജന്മം നൽകിയെന്നും വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ആശ്രമക്കൊല്ലിയെന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് ഇന്നും ആശ്രമമുണ്ട്.

ലവകുശന്മാരുടെ പേരിലുള്ള അപൂർവം ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് പുൽ‌പ്പള്ളിയിലെ സീതാലവകുശക്ഷേത്രം. ഇത് പഴശ്ശിരാജയുടെ ഇഷ്ടക്ഷേത്രമായിരുന്നു. വയനാടു ജില്ലയിലെ പുൽപ്പള്ളിയിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്.

മധ്യകാല ജൈന ബസ്തികളിൽ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടതാണ്. കിടങ്ങനാട് ബസ്തി എന്നറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന സുൽത്താൻ ബത്തേരിയിലെ ജൈന ബസ്തി. വിജയനഗര ശൈലിയിലാണ് ഇതിന്റെ നിർമ്മാണം. വാസ്തുശില്പകലയിൽ മികച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്ന ജൈനക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്. ബത്തേരി അങ്ങാടിയുടെ പടിഞ്ഞാറെ അറ്റത്താണ് കൂറ്റൻ ശിലാപാളികൾ നിറഞ്ഞ ഈ അമ്പലം. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനു ചുറ്റുമായി തകർന്നുപോയ ചില ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളുടെ അവശിഷ്‌ടങ്ങളും കാണാം. ഇപ്പോൾ പുരാവസ്‌തു വകുപ്പിന്റെ സംരക്ഷണയിലാണ്‌ ഈ സ്ഥലം.

മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലയിലെ തിരൂർ താലൂക്കിൽ താനൂർ പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ പരിയപുരം ഗ്രാമത്തിലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്.

വയനാട് ജില്ലയിൽ മീനങ്ങാടി പട്ടണത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ശ്രീ മത്സ്യാവതാര മഹാവിഷ്ണുക്ഷേത്രം. മഹാവിഷ്ണുഭഗവാന്റെ ആദ്യത്തെ അവതാരമായ മത്സ്യമൂർത്തിയാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മുഖ്യപ്രതിഷ്ഠ. കേരളത്തിൽ, മത്സ്യമൂർത്തിയുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ള ഏക ക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്. അതിനാൽ തന്നെ, ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സവിശേഷശ്രദ്ധ ആകർഷിയ്ക്കുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ വടക്കുഭാഗത്തുകൂടെ കോഴിക്കോട്-മൈസൂരു ദേശീയപാത (എൻ.എച്ച്. 766) കടന്നുപോകുന്നു. ഗണപതി, അയ്യപ്പൻ, ഭഗവതി എന്നിവരാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉപദേവതകൾ. കുംഭമാസത്തിൽ ഉത്രട്ടാതി കൊടിയേറി നടക്കുന്ന ഉത്സവവും മേടമാസത്തിലെ മത്സ്യജയന്തിയും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ വിശേഷദിവസങ്ങളാണ്. മലബാർ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിന്റെ കീഴിലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം.

വയനാട് ജില്ലയിലെ വൈത്തിരി താലൂക്കിൽ കല്പറ്റ ബ്ലോക്കിൽ പെട്ട ഒരു ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്ത് ആണ്‌ പടിഞ്ഞാറത്തറ. പടിഞ്ഞാറത്തറയുടെ ഭൂവിസ്ത്യതി 55.18 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്ററും ജനസാന്ദ്രത ചതുരശ്ര കിലോ മീറ്ററിന് 388 എന്ന തോതിലുമാണ്. ഈ ഗ്രാമത്തിന്റെ പടിഞ്ഞാറും തെക്കും ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ പശ്ചിമഘട്ടമല നിരകളും കിഴക്ക് ഭാഗം കുറുമ്പാലക്കോട്ട എന്ന ഇടത്തരം ഉയരമുള്ള ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട മലയും സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഏഷ്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ എർത്ത് ഡാം ആയ ബാണാസുര സാഗർ അണക്കെട്ട് ഈ പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു. 2001 ലെ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം പടിഞ്ഞാറത്തറ ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്തിലെ ജനസംഖ്യ 21398 ഉം സാക്ഷരത 82.72% ഉം ആണ്‌.

വയനാട്ടിലെ വൈത്തിരി താലൂക്കിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട കൽപറ്റ ബ്ലോക്കിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്ത് ആണ് വേങ്ങപ്പള്ളി. ജില്ലാ ആസ്ഥാനമായ കൽപ്പറ്റയിൽ നിന്ന് 8 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു.
