The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was the sixth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which is the world's largest song contest for children. It was held at the "Spyros Kyprianou" Athletic Centre in Lemesos, Cyprus and hosted by Alex Michael and Sophia Paraskeva. The theme of the event was "Fun in the Sun". It was won by the Georgian trio Bzikebi, with the song "Bzz..". Ukraine took 2nd place and Lithuania finished 3rd. Bzikebi also became the first group act to win the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Το Κοινοτικό Στάδιο Πελενδρίου βρίσκεται στην επαρχία Λεμεσού. Είναι η έδρα της ποδοσφαιρικής ομάδας του χωριού Πελένδρι, ΑΠΕΠ Πελενδρίου. Το Στάδιο επίσης χρησιμοποιείται και για μεγάλες συναυλίες όπου συνηθίζει το χωρίο να τις διοργανώνει σε συνεργασία με το Σύνδεσμο Αποδήμων και Φίλων Πελενδρίου. Αποκορύφωμα ήταν η συναυλία του Δημήτρης Μητροπάνος, που διεξήχθη το 2009 με 14500 θεατές περίπου. Η Τεχνητή λίμνη Κούρη είναι τεχνητή λίμνη στην Επαρχία Λεμεσού στην Κύπρο. Αποτελεί την μεγαλύτερη σε χωρητικότητα τεχνητή λίμνη της Κύπρου (115 εκατομμύρια κυβικά μέτρα). Ο ταμιευτήρας της τεχνητής λίμνης αποτελεί το 35% της ολικής χωρητικότητας των φραγμάτων της χώρας.

Η Ιερά Μονή Παναγίας Αμασγούς ή Παναγία της Αμασγούς ή Παναγία η Αμασγού ή απλώς Μονή Αμασγού είναι παλαιό χριστιανικό ορθόδοξο μοναστήρι της Κύπρου, στο έδαφος της Κοινότητας Μοναγρίου, στην Επαρχία Λεμεσού. Eίναι κτισμένο πάνω σε μικρό λόφο, κοντά στις όχθες του χειμάρρου Κούρη και απέχει περίπου 1,5 χιλιόμετρο νοτιοδυτικά του χωριού Μονάγρι.
Η Δκιά είναι χαμηλό βουνό ή λόφος της Κύπρου, που βρίσκεται στην επαρχία της Λεμεσού. Η κορυφή του έχει υψόμετρο 463 μέτρα πάνω από την επιφάνεια της θάλασσας. Ολόκληρη η αρχική του ονομασία είναι «Μούττη του Δκιά», δηλαδή «Μύτη (άκρα) του Δία», και συσχετίζεται με την ύπαρξη βωμού του Δία στο ύψωμα.
