The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was the sixth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, held on 22 November 2008 at the "Spyros Kyprianou" Athletic Centre in Lemesos, Cyprus, and presented by Alex Michael and Sophia Paraskeva. It was organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC). The theme of the event was "Fun in the Sun". Broadcasters from fifteen countries participated in the contest.

Olympus, or Chionistra, (Greek: Όλυμπος or Χιονίστρα; Turkish: Olimpos Tepesi) at 1,952 metres (6,404 ft), is the highest point in Cyprus. It is located in the Troodos Mountains of Cyprus. Mount Olympus peak and the "Troodos Square" fall under the territory of Platres in Limassol District. A British long range radar currently operates at Mount Olympus' peak. It has a highland warm-summer mediterranean climate.
Prodromos (Greek: Πρόδρομος) is the highest village in Cyprus at 1,380 metres (4,530 ft) above sea level. It is the island's main centre for winter sport, with three ski slopes located on nearby Mount Olympus. The village is part of the Limassol District. The number of inhabitants has decreased steadily over the years; by the 2011 census there were only 123 permanent residents, although there are over 240 residences that are temporarily occupied, mostly during the summer and other holidays.

Kolossi Castle is a former Crusader stronghold on the south-west edge of Kolossi village 14 kilometres (9 mi) west of the city of Limassol on the island of Cyprus. It held great strategic importance in the Middle Ages, and contained large facilities for the production of sugar from the local sugarcane, one of Cyprus's main exports in the period. The original castle was possibly built in 1210 by the Frankish military, when the land of Kolossi was given by King Hugh I to the Knights of the Order of St John of Jerusalem (Hospitallers).

Moni Power Station is the second power plant the Electricity Authority of Cyprus built. It is located some 20 kilometres (12 mi) east of Limassol. Construction started in the 1960s and when completed it consisted of six steam turbogenerators each having a capacity of 30 MW. Heavy fuel oil was fired in all boilers. All six steam turbogenerators have been decommissioned and are in storage as of 2013.

The Governor's Beach (Greek: Ακτή του Κυβερνήτη) is located partly in the Larnaca and in the Limassol region. It is a 2 km shoreline, with sandy beaches, deep crystal waters and a blue flag waving. One Limassol, otherwise known as simply One, is a high-rise apartment building in Limassol, Cyprus. Construction for the project was meant to begin in early 2016, but was pushed back to November 2017. It has a total of 38 floors and it rises to a height of 170 meters (558 ft.), making it the tallest building in Cyprus. One Tower was designed by architect Hakim Khennouchi (WKK Architects) and Eraclis Papachristou Architects (Architects of record). Structural design was completed by Buro Happold Engineering and PPA.

Germasogeia (Greek: Γερμασόγεια), is an eastern suburb of Limassol and a Municipal District of the Amathounta Municipality in the Limassol District of Cyprus. As of 2021, Germasogeia had a population of 17,325. Its mayor, Kyriakos Xidias, won the local elections on 18 December 2016 as an independent candidate. During the elections, Xidias prevailed with 26.73% of the vote against 23.01% of two-term incumbent Andreas Gavrielides.

Agros (Greek: Αγρός, Turkish: Ağros) is a village built on the Troödos Mountains, in the region of Pitsilia, in southwest Cyprus, which has built amphitheatrically among high mountains at an altitude of 1100 metres with a population of approximately 1,000. The village is located 45 minutes away from the cities of Nicosia and Limassol, 20 minutes from Troodos Square and 80 minutes from the international airports of Larnaca and Paphos.

Zoopigi (Greek: Ζωοπηγή) is a village one kilometre north of Kalo Chorio in the Limassol District of Cyprus. The village has three churches: Saint Nektarios church, Saint Marina church and church of St. Mary of the Spring (Zoodohos pigi), hence the name Zoopigi. The church of St. Mary of the Spring is the oldest. It was built in the 13th century AD. It is single-aisled wooden church covered with a large gabled roof as with the church of Saint Marina. The church of Saint Nektarios church is new, built in the 20th century. It has a Commandaria Museum on the south of the village.
