Municipality of Malevizi

The Decentralized Administration of Crete (Greek: Αποκεντρωμένη Διοίκηση Κρήτης) is one of the seven decentralized administrations of Greece, solely consisting of the region of Crete. Its seat is in Heraklion.

Voulismeno Aloni (Greek: Βουλισμένο Αλώνι, lit. 'sunken threshing floor') is a sinkhole located at the feet of Mount Stroumboulas, next to the old national road, at the 14th kilometer from Heraklion to Rethymnon, on the island of Crete (35°19′48″N, 25°01′05″E).

Arkaliospilio is a cave to the southwest of Marathos. Roman, Byzantine and medieval conches have been found in the cave. Situated at an altitude of 545 meters, near the abandoned quarry at Arkalokefalo, the cave's entrance measures approximately 2.1 meters in width and 1 meter in height, often concealed by dense vegetation. The cave extends for about 153 meters, comprising four large chambers and two smaller ones, all adorned with impressive stalactites and stalagmites.

Neitsyt Marian temppeliintuomisen kirkko (kreik. Ναός των Εισοδίων της Θεοτόκου, Naós ton Eisodíon tis Theotókou) eli Neitsyt Marian kirkko (Ναός Παναγίας, Naós Panagías) on bysanttilaisaikainen ortodoksinen kirkko Fódelen kylän lähellä Kreetan saarella Kreikassa. Se on omistettu Neitsyt Marian temppeliintuomiselle.

With 16,256 inhabitants (2021 census), it was the seat of the municipality of Gazi (Δήμος Γαζίου), which comprised several nearby villages with a total population of 20,918 and an area of 95.81 square kilometres (36.99 sq mi).

Agia Pelagia (Greek: Αγία Πελαγία, "Saint Pelagia") is a popular seaside resort in the municipality of Malevizi, 23 km northwest of Crete's capital city of Heraklion. In former times, Agia Pelagia was a tiny fishing village and a place for the residents of nearby Achlada village to grow their crops. Today, the village built at the center of a picturesque amphitheatric bay has been transformed into a bustling tourist resort featuring five-star hotels, traditional seaside tavernas, cafes, bars, internet cafés, ATMs, and souvenir shops.

Apollonia (Ancient Greek: Ἀπολλωνία) was an ancient city in northern Crete located near modern Gazi. Polybius reports an alleged incident in which the city was betrayed by Kydonia, a former ally.

Palaiokastro (Greek: Παλαιόκαστρο) is a coastal village and a community in the municipality of Malevizi. 9 km west of Heraklion on the island of Crete. It is situated in front of a 70 meter long pebbled beach leading to a cove with rapidly deepening waters that are protected from the prevailing northerly winds. On the southern end of the beach rises a steep calcareous rock. During the Venetian occupation of Crete extensive fortifications were built on this rock, housing cannons that secured the bay of Heraklion. Ruins of the fortress walls survive until today.

Η Αγία Ειρήνη είναι οικισμός της κοινότητας και δημοτικής ενότητας (τέως δήμου) Κρουσώνα, του δήμου Μαλεβιζίου, της περιφερειακής ενότητας (τέως νομού) Ηρακλείου, στην περιφέρεια Κρήτης, σύμφωνα με το πρόγραμμα Καλλικράτης. Στο χωριό βρίσκεται ο ναός του Αγίου Γεωργίου. Το 1940 η ονομασία Καλέσσα έγινε Καλέσια τόσο για τα Άνω (ή Απάνω) όσο και για τα Κάτω Καλέσια (τα οποία βρίσκονται σε απόσταση 300-400 μέτρων).

Βρίσκεται στις ανατολικές πλαγιές του όρους Βοσκερό (υψομ. 1.199 μ.) που είναι παρακλάδι του Ψηλορείτη σε υψόμετρο 367 μέτρα. Η θέα προς βορρά, ανατολή και νότο είναι πανοραμική. Οι κάτοικοι ασχολούνται με την ελαιοκομία, τις καλλιέργειες αμπελιών και την ορνιθοτροφία.

Ο Σάρχος είναι χωριό και έδρα ομώνυμης Κοινότητος του Δήμου Μαλεβιζίου στην Περιφεριακή Ενότητα Ηρακλείου της Κρήτης. Ανήκε στην Επαρχία Μαλεβιζίου. Βρίσκεται σε υψόμετρο 240 μέτρα. Απέχει περί τα 22 χιλιόμετρα από το Ηράκλειο, στο νομό του οποίου υπάγεται, και 11 χιλιόμ. νοτιοδυτικά του Αγίου Μύρωνα.

Η Ιερά Μονή Σαββαθιανών είναι γυναικείο μοναστήρι της Κοινότητος Ροδιάς του Δήμου Μαλεβιζίου στην Περιφεριακή Ενότητα Ηρακλείου της Κρήτης. Η θέση του είναι στα 440 μέτρα υψόμετρο, βορειοδυτικά του χωριού Ροδιά, σε κοιλάδα.

Το Καβροχώρι (επίσημο: Καβροχώριον) είναι χωριό και ιστορική έδρα της Κοινότητας Γαζίου του Δήμου Μαλεβιζίου στην Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Ηρακλείου της Κρήτης. Σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2011 έχει 503 κατοίκους. Βρίσκεται σε υψόμετρο 60 μ. και απέχει από το Ηράκλειο 10,2 χιλιόμετρα.
