Junior Lake is a lake located on Vancouver Island north of Great Central Lake, north east of Oshinow Lake.

Nine Peaks is a mountain featuring numerous peaks on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, located 40 km (25 mi) northeast of Tofino and 4 km (2 mi) southeast of Big Interior Mountain.

The 1918 Vancouver Island earthquake occurred in British Columbia, Canada at 12:41 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on December 6. The earthquake was most likely of the strike-slip type, and was estimated to have a maximum perceived intensity of VII (Very strong) on the Mercalli intensity scale. The epicenter was located east of the Stewardson inlet on the west coast of Vancouver Island, with damage occurring at the Estevan Point lighthouse on the Hesquiat Peninsula. The event registered 7.2 on the moment magnitude scale and was felt as far as northern Washington state and the interior of British Columbia.

The Kiišḥniqʷus Conservancy is a conservancy in British Columbia, Canada. Established on June 18, 2024, the conservancy covers 11,012 hectares of land. It covers part of the Sydney River valley and most of the area between the Sydney Inlet and the Shelter Inlet. It borders the Sydney Inlet Provincial Park to its west, the Strathcona Provincial Park to its east and the Sulphur Passage Provincial Park to its southeast.

The Hesquiat Peninsula is a peninsula on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, located northwest of the town of Tofino and Clayoquot Sound and Nootka Sound to the northwest. It marks the division between the two regions formed by those sounds and is named for the Hesquiaht people of the Nuu-chah-nulth, and is the location of Hesquiat Peninsula Provincial Park. The Estevan Point lighthouse is at the apex of the peninsula.`

Tseshaht First Nation is an amalgamation of many tribes up and down Alberni Inlet and in the Alberni Valley of central Vancouver Island in the Canadian province of British Columbia. They are a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council which includes all other Nuu-chah-nulth-aht peoples except the Pacheedaht First Nation.

The Hupacasath First Nation is a First Nations government based in the Alberni Valley on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. It is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council. An alternate spelling of Hupacasath is Opetchesaht or Opitchesaht. Hupacasath First Nation consists of approximately 300 members across five reserves.

Port Alberni Mill is a paper mill located in the Canadian town of Port Alberni, British Columbia, on the edge of the Alberni Inlet. Part of Paper Excellence, the mill has two paper machines which produce 336,000 tonnes. Port Alberni Mill produces directory, lightweight coated paper, and specialty papers. The mill's papers are used in telephone directories, catalogues, magazines, brochures, inserts, flyers, and in food grade applications. The mill has 310 employees as of 2020.

It covers the area north and east of the Bedwell Sound. It borders the Strathcona Provincial Park to its north and the Unaacuł-Ḥiłsyakƛis Conservancy and the Tranquil Creek Provincial Park to its southeast.

Ahousaht, also spelled Ahousat ( or ), is the principal settlement on Flores Island, in British Columbia, Canada. Accessible only by water or air, Ahousaht is a small community predominantly composed of Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation people.

Ahousaht First Nation is a First Nation government based on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. It administers the community of Ahousaht, British Columbia, which encompasses much of Clayoquot Sound. The Ahousaht are a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council. It is led by Chief A-in-chut (meaning 'everyone depends on you') Shawn Atleo and the Taayi Haw̓ił - Maquinna (Lewis George).

Hot Springs Cove, formerly Refuge Cove, is an unincorporated settlement on Sydney Inlet on West Coast of Vancouver Island. It is located on the west side of the Openit Peninsula in the western Clayoquot Sound region. Hot Springs Cove derives its name from its proximity to Ramsay Hot Springs, and is protected by Maquinna Marine Provincial Park. The post office at Hot Springs Cove was closed in 1974 but had operated since 1947, when it was first named Sydney Inlet until being renamed in 1948. Despite the closure of the post office, there remains a year-round population in the vicinity.

Marktosis, also spelled Maaqtusiis in the Nuu-chah-nulth language, is one of the principal settlements of Ahousaht First Nation, located off the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, just southeast of the Hesquiat Peninsula on Flores Island. Accessible only by water or air, Marktosis is a small community predominantly composed of First Nations people from the Nuu-chah-nulth nation. Marktosis has approximately 900 residents.

The Ahousaht Wildside Heritage Trail is a hiking trail on Flores Island, British Columbia, Canada in Ahousaht Traditional Territories that connects the town of Ahousat, the village of Marktosis, to several beaches and wild forest and is 11 km (6.8 mi) long one way ending in Cow Bay. The trail features signage at locations important to the Ahousat people; further information about each location of importance is shared in a guidebook published by Elder Stanley Sam.

The Ahousaht Indian Residential School was a school within the Canadian Indian residential school system that operated in Ahousaht, British Columbia from 1904 to 1940. The school was located on Flores Island south of the Marktosis Indian Reserve #15, on land owned by the Women's Missionary Society.

A diverse range of ecosystems exist within the biosphere reserve boundaries, including temperate coastal rainforest, ocean and rocky coastal shores.

Freedom Cove is an artificial island in Cypress Bay near Clayoquot Sound, British Columbia, Canada. It was built by artists Wayne Adams and Catherine King. Construction began in the summer of 1991 and has continued to the present day. The island consists of a dozen platforms that include greenhouses, an art gallery, an art studio and a dance floor, built atop recycled fish-farming structures.

The Č̓icy̓i Conservancy is a conservancy in British Columbia, Canada. Established on June 18, 2024, the conservancy covers 9,269 hectares of land. It covers the central and eastern part of Flores Island and part of its northwest.

Alberni Inlet (formerly known as Alberni Canal) is a long, narrow inlet in Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, that stretches from the Pacific Ocean at Barkley Sound about 54.3 km (34 mi) inland terminating at Port Alberni. It was named by the Spanish explorer Francisco de Eliza after Pedro de Alberní y Teixidor, Captain of the Free Company of Volunteers of Catalonia who was appointed in the Spanish fort in Nootka Sound from 1790 to 1792. The inlet includes traditional territories of the Ucluelet, Uchucklesaht, Huu-ay-aht, Hupacasath, and Tseshaht peoples, who are part of the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council people.

Located at the head of Wickaninnish Bay, just east of Schooner Cove, it is part of the group of reserves under the governance of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations of the Nuu-chah-nulth peoples. Its population in 2006 was 160.

The Esowista Peninsula is a peninsula in the Clayoquot Sound region of the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The name was adopted in 1934 in reference to Esowista Indian Reserve No. 3. The name originally applied to the neck of land between Templar Channel and Browning Passage, centred at 49°08′N 125°54′W to the whole neck of land from Grice Bay, Long Beach and Tofino. It was originally charted as Low Peninsula by the Royal Navy in 1860. Much of the peninsula is within the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.

It covers most of the area between the two arms of Kennedy Lake as well as the area between Clayoquot Arm Provincial Park and Clayoquot Plateau Provincial Park. It also borders the Unaacuł-Ḥiłsyakƛis Conservancy to its northwest.

Templar Channel is a channel in the Clayoquot Sound region of the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, lying between Lennard Island and Wickaninnish Island just northwest of the town of Tofino. An anchor was found in the channel that is possibly from the wreck of the Tonquin, an American trading ship that was destroyed in the area in 1811.

Opitsaht, spelled also as Opitsat and Opitsitah, is a First Nations settlement/community in the Southwest area of Meares Island, Clayoquot South, British Columbia. This peninsula-like region is the home to Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations of the Nuu-chah-nulth nation. The Tla-o-qui-aht are an Indigenous group from the Pacific Northwest region in the lower Vancouver area, known for their lifestyle revolving around the marine life trade and culture within the community.

Poole's Land was an eco-village and a countercultural intentional community in Tofino on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, that existed between 1988 and 2020. Operated by founder Michael Poole, the community functioned as a popular tourist destination as well as a place of low-cost residence and accommodation, particularly for seasonal workers working over the summer months. Residents were encouraged to participate in a hippie lifestyle, living in camp-like conditions with an emphasis on sustainability and a community culture that espoused empathy as a core value and that was highly tolerant of soft drug use. Poole's Land came to an end due to a combination of dissatisfaction by local authorities, the failing health of its founder, and the COVID-19 pandemic paralysing operations.

On October 25, 2015, the whale watching boat Leviathan II broached in the vicinity of Plover Reef off the coast of Vargas Island near Tofino, British Columbia, Canada. The 20 m (66 ft) vessel was struck by a breaking wave over the reefs and its sinking resulted in the deaths of 6 of its 27 passengers

The Broken Group is a group of small islands and islets in the middle of Barkley Sound on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It is protected as the Broken Islands Group Unit of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, which includes Long Beach, between Ucluelet and Tofino to Barkley Sound's northwest, and the West Coast Trail between Port Renfrew and Bamfield, to the southeast. The group, which lies between Imperial Eagle and Loudon Channels, includes the Brabant Islands and Hand Island, but not Pinkerton Islands. The southernmost of the group is Cree Island; the easternmost is Reeks Island. Benson Island, on the northwest corner of the Broken Group, is an important cultural site for the Tseshaht First Nation.

HMCS Thiepval was one of twelve Battle-class naval trawlers used by the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). After seeing service on Canada's east coast at the end of the First World War, Thiepval was transferred to the west coast, where she spent the remainder of her career. In 1924, Thiepval visited the Soviet Union and Japan as part of the support efforts for a round-the-world flight attempt. Thiepval struck a rock and sank off the British Columbia coast in 1930, and her wreck has since become a popular attraction for divers.

The Huu-ay-aht First Nations is a First Nations based on Pachena Bay about 300 km (190 mi) northwest of Victoria, British Columbia, on the west coast of Vancouver Island, in Canada. The traditional territories of the Huu-ay-aht make up the watershed of the Sarita River. The Huu-ay-aht is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council and is a member of the Maa-nulth Treaty Society. It completed and ratified its community constitution and ratified the Maa-nulth Treaty on 28 July 2007. The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia passed the Maa-nulth First Nations Final Agreement Act on Wednesday, 21 November 2007 and celebrated with the member-nations of the Maa-nulth Treaty Society that evening.

Kiix-in, or Kiix?in , earlier romanized as Keeshan, was the principal residence of the Huu-ay-aht (Ohiaht) group of the Nuu-chah-nulth people. The name is onomatopoeic, and comes from the sound of waves crashing against the rocks below the village. It was initially romanised as "Keeshan", but was redesignated "Kiix-in (Former First Nation Village)" in line with the Maa-nulth Treaty.
