Swartz Bay is a 22.7 ha (56.1-acre) ferry terminal and a major transportation facility at Swartz Bay in North Saanich, British Columbia. It is located 32 km (20 mi) north of Victoria on Vancouver Island. The terminal is part of the BC Ferries system, as well as part of Highway 17.

SMONEĆTEN Campground is located in the town of Sidney on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. SMONEĆTEN Campground is 20 hectares of forested parkland and can be accessed from the Pat Bay Highway (Highway 17). Previously, SMONEĆTEN Campground was managed by the province of British Columbia and known as McDonald Campground. Today SMONEĆTEN Campground is a part of Gulf Islands National Park Reserve. The campground was renamed to SMONECTEN in 2021.

ROPOS ("Remotely Operated Platform for Ocean Science") is an ROV used primarily for scientific research. It was originally built in Vancouver by International Submarine Engineering and purchased by the Canadian federal government. The same government program also operated the Pisces IV crewed submersible, now in Hawaii being run by the Hawai'i Undersea Research Laboratory (HURL) who found the long-lost two-man Japanese sub which heralded the attack on Pearl Harbor.
