Cromna or Kromna (Ancient Greek: Κρῶμνα) was a town on the Paphlagonian coast, now in modern Turkey. It is mentioned by Homer in the Iliad. It was 60 stadia east of Erythini and 90 west of Cytorus. There are autonomous coins of Cromna.
The 1968 Bartın earthquake occurred at 10:19:56 on September 3 with a moment magnitude of 6.3 and a maximum Mercalli Intensity of VIII (Severe). The thrust shock resulted in 24 to 29 deaths and 200 injuries. A tsunami was generated in the Black Sea with a maximum runup height of 3 metres (9.8 ft). A comprehensive catalogue of tsunamis on the Turkish coast lists the 1968 Amasra event as a definite tsunami, noting inundation distances of 50–100 m along the Amasra–Çakraz shoreline, and ranks it among the most significant Black Sea tsunamis of the 20th century.

Strabo fixed the position of the town upon two rocks, called, from their colour, Ἐρυθρῖνοι, 90 stadia east of Amastris, and 60 stadia north of Cromna. Arrian writes that the Amastris is 60 stadia from the Erythini.

Amasra Coal Mine is a coal mine in Turkey located in Amasra, Bartın Province. It is operated by Amasra Taşkömürü İşletme Müessesesi̇, which is part of state-owned Turkish Hard Coal Enterprises (TTK). 125,000 tonnes of coal was mined in 2021, which was less than any of the other four TTK owned mines in Zonguldak coal field: Armutçuk, Kozlu, Üzülmez and Karadon.
