The pier was opened in 1980 to relieve traffic congestion problems in King's Road. The Hong Kong and Yaumati Ferry Company provided ferry services to Central and Kowloon City from there. Cape Collinson Crematorium is a crematorium located in Tai Tam Gap, Eastern District, Hong Kong. It was opened in 1962 and is located near Cape Collinson Road and more cemeteries in Chai Wan area, where the columbaria niches are located. The crematorium is managed by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department of the Hong Kong Government.
