Thornton is a name sometimes used for part of a suburb in western Hamilton in New Zealand.

The Waikato District Health Board (Waikato DHB) is a district health board with the focus on providing healthcare to the Waikato region of New Zealand.

River Road is a residential suburb of Hamilton, sited on the eastern bank of the Waikato River. The namesake road runs from Claudelands Bridge north to Pukete Bridge and beyond, to Ngāruawāhia, but the main part of the suburb is between Boundary Road and Donny Park. Properties close to the river are much more expensive than those further away. Most of River Road was shown on an 1865 map, though it was some years later before it was built and, by 1866, only one bridge had been built.

Claudelands railway station was a New Zealand railway station in the Hamilton suburb of Claudelands. The station was between Brooklyn Road and Claudelands Road, 1.23 km (0.76 mi) east of the old Hamilton station (1879–1969) and 3.94 km (2.45 mi) west of Ruakura (1884–1967).

Gower Park, is a multi-purpose stadium in the Hamilton, New Zealand, suburb of Melville. It is used for football matches and is the home stadium of New Zealand National League and Northern League side Melville United.

The Breeze Waikato is an adult contemporary radio station in Hamilton, New Zealand. It is owned by RadioWorks, a MediaWorks New Zealand company. The Breeze plays music from the 1960s to the present day, aimed at a 35- to 54-year-old female audience.

Contact FM is a student radio station in Hamilton, New Zealand. It operates from the University of Waikato in Hamilton. It broadcasts on the 88.1 MHz FM frequency, having previously broadcast on 106 MHz, 89.0 MHz and 1440 kHz. The original Contact FM, owned by the Waikato Students Union, was broadcast on 89.0 MHz from 1985 to 1998. During a period of voluntary student unionism, the WSU subleased the frequency to private ownership, along with selling Contact FM's equipment. Specialist shows have included the Prognosis Show, a progressive rock show hosted by Richard Stockwell on Saturday nights from 1996 to 1997. The show also included space music, krautrock, psychedelic music, electronic music and experimental Music.

The State Theatre opened in 1932 on the corner of Victoria and London Streets in Hamilton, New Zealand. The movie theater remained in operation under that name until 1964 when, after a 10½-week renovation, it reopened as the Carlton Theatre and operated under that name until the early 1990s. After the Village Five cinemas opened in the Centre Place shopping mall in 1992, the State (along with many Hamilton theatres) closed. The building was used by the Fountain City Christian Church for several years thereafter.

Hamilton City Libraries are a group of six libraries in Hamilton, New Zealand, owned by the local city council. They lend fiction and non-fiction (for all ages), magazines, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs. From November 2016 to 9 July 2018, a substitute library compensated for the temporarily closed Central branch, and the libraries closed for over 2 months for COVID-19 in 2020. Waikato residents without local libraries can freely use the Hamilton libraries.

Balloons over Waikato is an annual hot air balloon festival held in Hamilton, New Zealand since 1999 by the non-profit organization Balloons over Waikato Trust. The event spans five days during autumn and attracts both local and overseas balloonists. The Festival is held primarily at Innes Common, at Hamilton Lake, which gets an estimated 130,000 visitors during the festival. The highlight of the festival, the "Night glow" is held at the University of Waikato where an estimated 80,000+ people attend to watch the lighting of balloons putting on a spectacular glow to music.

The Latin Church Catholic Diocese of Hamilton, New Zealand is a suffragan diocese of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Wellington. It is centred in Hamilton, New Zealand and was formed on 6 March 1980 from a portion of the territory in the Diocese of Auckland. St James shopping area is in the centre of Rototuna, with a Countdown supermarket, a gym and a Palmers Garden Centre.

The Hamilton Street Circuit was a temporary street circuit in Hamilton, New Zealand. From 2008 to 2012 it hosted the Hamilton 400 as part of the V8 Supercars championship.
