The 1222 Cyprus earthquake occurred at about 06:15 UTC on 11 May. It had an estimated magnitude of 7.0–7.5 and triggered a paleotsunami that was recorded in Libya and Alexandria. The strongest shaking was felt in Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos. Many people died, although there are no estimates for the total number of casualties.

Kouris River (Greek Κούρης; Turkish Kuris) is a waterway in Cyprus. Measuring 38 kilometres (24 mi) in length, it originates on the south part of the Troodos Mountains, traverses Limassol District, and reaches the sea at Kourion. Not much of the river exists in the lower reaches of its course after the building of the Kouris Dam in the 1980s. This had to effect of enlarging the river's northern basin. Erimi is situated on the river's eastern side, while Kantou is on the western portion. Episkopi, built atop Kourion, is situated near the river's western bank. Luigi Palma di Cesnola explored the area around the river's mouth and reported on it the 1870s.

Episkopi, also known as Episcopi, Episcopí, Piskobu, is a village 11 kilometres northeast from the city of Paphos in Cyprus. It is located at 188 metres (617 ft) above sea level. Episkopi Paphou is one of the “villages of Minthi”, along with Kallepia, Tsada and the Minthis Hills tourist project, which essentially consists of a “cooperation” of communities, under a common umbrella, in order to highlight their history, their tradition and their unique natural environment. The “villages of Minthi” have released a guide with tourist information and walks in the valley of Ezousa, highlighting the place as a rural tourism area.
On 23 February 1995, at 12:03 AM EEST (21:03 UTC), a Mwr 5.9 earthquake struck Paphos District in Cyprus, with an epicenter located about 40 km (25 mi) northwest of Paphos. The earthquake was felt throughout all of Cyprus, as well as parts of northern Israel, Lebanon, and Turkey. It caused moderate damage to the surrounding area; homes had little to severe damage. Two people died and five were injured as a result of this earthquake.

Souskiou-Vathyrkakas ist eine kupfersteinzeitliche (vorbronzezeitliche) Nekropole des späten 4. Jahrtausends v. Chr., die 2,5 km von Palaepaphos, dem heutigen Kouklia, und auf Gemeindegebiet von Souskiou im Südwesten Zyperns in einer 80 m tiefen Klamm liegt. Damit stammt sie aus einer Zeit, in der noch nicht regelmäßig Friedhöfe angelegt wurden.
Der Marcello-Hügel (auch Marchello-Hügel oder -Plateau, in der Fachliteratur auch site KA genannt) ist eines von vier, durch Einschnitte und Täler separierten Plateaus, die zusammen die antike Stadt Alt-Paphos auf Zypern bildeten. Der Marcello-Hügel war das nordöstliche, bis ins 3. Jahrhundert v. Chr. genutzte Siedlungsplateau und erhebt sich in unmittelbarer Umgebung der Ortschaft Kouklia auf etwa 115 Meter über den Meeresspiegel. Nach Nordosten steigt das Gelände weiter sanft an, während es insbesondere auf der Südwestseite steiler abfällt. Die nicht natürlich geschützte Nordostseite des Hügels umfasst als Fundort umfangreiche Reste der Verteidigungsanlage der Stadt und war Schauplatz einer bedeutenden militärischen Auseinandersetzung während der Perserkriege. Das Ausgrabungsgelände ist zu besichtigen.

Kissonerga-Mosphilia (auch oft nur als Mosphilia bezeichnet) ist eine archäologische Ausgrabungsstätte auf Zypern. Der im Westen der Insel nahe der Küste gelegene 10 ha umfassende Ort datiert in die Kupfersteinzeit. Nach diesem Fundort wird die Periode der mittleren Kupfersteinzeit (ca. 3500 bis 2500 v. Chr.) auf Zypern auch als Mosphilia-Periode bezeichnet. Es konnten mehrere Siedlungsphasen unterschieden werden. Besonders gut erhalten waren die Schichten 3 und 4.

Ο Άρης Πολεμίου είναι ένα κυπριακό αθλητικό σωματείο με έδρα το Πολέμι της επαρχίας Πάφου. Σήμερα διατηρεί τμήμα πετοσφαίρισης γυναικών και τμήμα υποδομών στην πετοσφαίριση ενώ παλαιότερα διατηρούσε και τμήματα ποδοσφαίρου και πετοσφαίρισης ανδρών.
