The Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks is the consolidated management structure for Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park in California. Both parks have been jointly administered since 1943. They have a combined size of 1,353 square miles (3,500 km2). It was designated the UNESCO Sequoia-Kings Canyon Biosphere Reserve in 1976.

Wuksachi Village is a visitor services development in Sequoia National Park, California. It was developed to replace the Giant Forest-Camp Kaweah development, which was regarded as being much too close to sensitive giant sequoia groves. Wuksachi Village is about 5 miles (8.0 km) north of the Giant Forest. It was originally proposed in the 1971 park master plan as the "Clover Creek-Willow Meadow" development, incorporating campgrounds as well as lodgings. Over time the campground feature was dropped. By 1980 the Clover Creek site was approved for development. Work involved a new maintenance facility at Red Fir and improvements to the existing Lodgepole campsite. Work began on Wuksachi Village in 1985 to build employee accommodations, a fire station and water and wastewater treatment facilities. Guest accommodations were built by concessioner Delaware North, opening in June 1999. There are three lodging units with a total of 102 rooms, with potential expansion to 414 rooms. The lodge buildings were designed by Clayton B. Wardel.
The Shorty Lovelace Historic District includes a series of cabins built in Kings Canyon National Park by trapper Joseph Walter "Shorty" Lovelace between 1910 and 1940. Lovelace was the first non-Native American to live year-round in the upper Kings River Canyon. Lovelace may have built as many as thirty-six structures in the area, with possibly a dozen surviving. Lovelace built his first cabins in 1912 at Crowley Canyon. The cabins were typically five feet by seven feet with dirt floors.

The Generals' Highway Stone Bridges, built in 1930, are part of the Generals' Highway from the General Grant Grove of giant sequoias in Kings Canyon National Park (then called General Grant National Park) through Sequoia National Park. One bridge spans the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River in a wooded setting, while the other, similar bridge spans Clover Creek in a bare canyon.

The Pear Lake Ski Hut (also known as Pear Lake Winter Hut) is a mountain hut in Sequoia National Park, California, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in Sequoia National Park by the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1939–41 using local Sierra granite and timber materials, the hut is an example of the National Park Service Rustic style, using rough masonry and a log roof structure.

The Mark Twain Tree was a giant sequoia tree located in the Big Stump Forest of Kings Canyon National Park. It was named after the American writer and humorist Mark Twain. It had a diameter of 16 feet (4.9 meters) and was 1,341 years old when it was felled in 1891 for the American Museum of Natural History as an exhibition tree.

The Great Basin (Spanish: Gran Cuenca) is the largest area of contiguous endorheic watersheds, those with no outlets to the ocean, in North America. It spans nearly all of Nevada, much of Utah, and portions of California, Idaho, Oregon, Wyoming, and Baja California. It is noted for both its arid climate and the basin and range topography that varies from the North American low point at Badwater Basin in Death Valley to the highest point of the contiguous United States, less than 100 miles (160 km) away at the summit of Mount Whitney. The Whitney Classic is an 136-mile-long (219 km) endurance mountain bike race that is held in late September or October every year. The ride runs from the Badwater Basin in Death Valley to Whitney Portal. Badwater, at 279 feet (85 m) below sea level, is the lowest place in the North America and Whitney Portal at 8,360 feet (2,550 m) is the trailhead that leads to Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the contiguous United States with an elevation of 14,505 feet (4,421 m).
Mount Mallory is a mountain located in the Sierra Nevada of California. The boundary between Inyo National Forest and Sequoia National Park runs across the summit. The peak was named in memory of George H. Leigh Mallory, of the 1924 British Mount Everest expedition, who was lost on Mount Everest, June, 1924. Norman Clyde advanced Mallory's and Andrew Irvine's names following their loss after attaining the highest altitude reached by a mountain climber.

Mount Corcoran is a 13,701-foot (4,176 m) mountain summit located on the crest of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California. It is situated on the boundary between Tulare County and Inyo County, as well as the boundary between Sequoia National Park and John Muir Wilderness. It is 12 miles (19 km) west-southwest of the community of Lone Pine, 3.6 miles (5.8 km) southeast of Mount Whitney, 1.2 miles (1.9 km) northwest of Mount Langley, and 0.23 miles (0.37 km) immediately south of Mount Le Conte, the nearest higher neighbor. The Hazelwood Tree is a giant sequoia in the Giant Forest, the sequoia grove where the largest living tree in the world, named General Sherman, grows. It is located on a hillside just west of the Hazelwood Nature Trail. The tree had a volume of 36,228 cu ft (1,025.9 m3) and was the 17th largest giant sequoia, before losing half its trunk in a lightning storm in 2002. The tree was measured in 1989.
The Franklin Tree is a giant sequoia in Giant Forest, a sequoia grove where the largest tree in the world lives – the General Sherman Tree. The Franklin Tree is the eighth largest giant sequoia in the world. It was named by Wendell Flint after Founding Father Benjamin Franklin. Nearby trees include the Washington Tree which was once the second largest tree in the world, but since it lost half its trunk in 2005 many sequoias are now larger.
Above Diamond, also known by the abbreviation AD, is a giant sequoia located within the Atwell Mill Grove of Sequoia National Park, California. Naturalists Dennis Coggins, Wendell D. Flint, and Michael M. Law named the tree "Above Diamond" after Diamond, a giant sequoia located just downhill from the tree. It is the second largest tree in Atwell Mill Grove, the 24th largest giant sequoia in the world, and could be considered the 23rd largest depending on how badly Ishi Giant atrophied during the Rough Fire in 2015.

The 2021 KNP Complex Fire was a large wildfire in Sequoia National Park and the Sequoia National Forest in Central California's Tulare County. After lightning ignited the Paradise and Colony fires in the southern Sierra Nevada on September 9, the twin blazes merged and burned a total of 88,307 acres (35,737 hectares). The fire was not declared contained until mid-December, after several atmospheric rivers delivered rain and snow to the mountains. The number of firefighting personnel reached more than 2,000 and firefighting costs surpassed $170 million.

The King Arthur Tree, formerly known as the California Tree, was a giant sequoia located in Garfield Grove, near the town of Three Rivers in California. Its base of up to about 50 feet (15 m) rivaled the General Sherman, the largest giant sequoia, for total mass. It died in the Castle Fire of 2020.

Tulare County Election Tree also called the Charter Oak is historical site in Visalia, California in Tulare County, California. The site of the Election Tree is a California Historical Landmark No. 410 listed on November 15, 1948. Under Tulare County Election Tree on July 10, 1852, Tulare County was founded. The election under the tree was headed by Major James D. Savage. The first county seat was in Woodville, California about one-half mile south of the Tulare County Election Tree. The Visalia and Woodville area near the Kaweah River delta, was known as the Four Creeks County, before the vote. A marker at the site was placed there by the Tulare County Historical Society on February 5, 2011, near the St. Johns River.

The U.S. Post Office, located at 65 W. Mill Ave., is the main post office in Porterville, California. Built from 1933 to 1937, the post office was designed by H. Rafael Lake in the Art Deco style. The design features decorative terra cotta plaques over the windows and cast aluminum plaques below the front windows, decorative features used in no other building in Porterville. A terra cotta frieze atop the front entry features eagle and acanthus motifs borrowed from Roman designs and a sunrise pattern typical of Art Deco decorations. The building is topped with a green tile roof, an unusual element in Art Deco buildings which is consistent with the vernacular Mission Revival style common in Porterville architecture.
