Longford

Tynagh (Irish: Tíne) is a village and electoral division in south-east County Galway in Ireland. The village is in a townland and civil parish of the same name.

Ballymore Castle in Lawrencetown, County Galway, Ireland was originally a 15th-century tower house belonging to O'Madden. A house was added in 1620, and the castle has been much altered since then.

Stoneyisland Man is the name given to a Neolithic human skeleton discovered in 1929 in Stoneyisland Bog at Gortanumera, County Galway, Ireland. The remains, preserved within deep peat deposits, represent one of the rare examples of a prehistoric bog body from Ireland dating to the fourth millennium BCE.

St Stanislaus College (often called Tullabeg College) was a Jesuit boys boarding school, novitiate and philosophy school, in Tullabeg, Rahan, County Offaly. St Carthage founded a monastery of 800 monks there in 595 before founding his monastery in Lismore. The Presentation Sisters also have a convent in Rahan, Killina, which was founded at the same time (circa 1818) as the Jesuits founded St Stanislaus College.

Mullagh (Irish: An Mullach) is a parish in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Clonfert in County Galway, Ireland. It is in the south-east of the county, close to the towns of Loughrea, Ballinasloe, and Portumna. Mullagh lies in the civil parish of Abbeygormacan, and spans the townlands of Mullagh Beg (Irish: An Mullach Beag) and Mullagh More (An Mullach Mór).

Meelick–Eyrecourt is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in the east of County Galway, Ireland. It is primarily involved in hurling, and has won a number of hurling county titles at intermediate and senior grade.

The Ardgraigue Bog (Irish: Portach na hArdghráige) Special Area of Conservation or SAC is a Natura 2000 site in County Galway, close to the town of Portumna in County Galway, Ireland. The site qualifies for Special Area of Conservation status under three criteria: the presence of active raised bog, of degraded raised bogs still capable of natural regeneration, and of depressions on peat substrates of the Rhynchosporion.
