Ka sipërfaqe të pellgut142 km2 (89 km2 brenda kufirit shtetëror të Shqipërisë). Lugina e lumit të Vermoshit ka formë tipike të një lugu me prejardhje akullnajore, me krahë të pjerrët e me një fund të sheshtë e të gjerë 150-200 m, zallishtor që e ruan deri në derdhjen e përroit të Lepushës. Pak pas derdhjes së përroit të Lepushës, lumi i Vermoshit del nga territori i Shqipërisë, duke formuar një grykë.
