Carmarthenshire (; Welsh: Sir Gaerfyrddin [siːr gɑːɨrˈvərðɪn] or informally Sir Gâr) is a county in the south-west of Wales. The three largest towns are Llanelli, Carmarthen and Ammanford. Carmarthen is the county town and administrative centre. The county is known as the "Garden of Wales" and is also home to the National Botanic Garden of Wales.

Merlin's Oak, also known as the Old Oak and Priory Oak, was a pedunculate oak that once stood on the corner of Oak Lane and Priory Street in Carmarthen, South Wales. Merlin's Oak is associated with the legend of Merlin in the local lore, but it is also said to have been planted by a schoolmaster in 1659 or 1660, to celebrate the return of King Charles II of England to the throne. Legend had it that should the oak fall, disaster would befall the town.
Elim Independent Chapel is an independent chapel in the town of Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The building dates from 1849 and is located about one mile north of Lime Grove House, Carmarthen. The chapel was designated a Grade II listed building on 19 May 1981.
Eglwys Dewi Sant or St David's Church, was an Anglican parish church in the town of Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Built in the 1830s and briefly considered as a possible replacement cathedral for the dioceses of St David's, the church eventually became the home of Carmarthen's main Welsh-speaking Anglican congregation. The church closed in the early twenty-first century after the building became unsafe.
The Picton Monument in Carmarthen, Wales, is one of a number of memorials commemorating Lieutenant General Sir Thomas Picton. He was the highest ranking British officer to die at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Picton was from Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. At the time of his death he had a property called Iscoed in Carmarthenshire.
Capel Heol Awst is an Independent Welsh chapel in the town of Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The present building dates from 1826 to 1827, replacing a 1726 building which itself had been enlarged in 1802 and again in 1826 to seat a congregation of 1000. It is located on Lammas Street (Heol Awst), Carmarthen. It was designated as a Grade II* listed building on 19 May 1981.
St Mary's Church is an Anglican parish church in the hamlet of Llanllwch, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It was originally a chapel attached to St Peter's Church, Carmarthen, both of which were conferred on the Priory of St. John the Evangelist at Carmarthen in the Early Middle Ages. The building has medieval origins and was rebuilt in the early eighteenth century. It is located in the centre of Llanllwch at the street address 1 Manor Way.

The Carmarthen transmitting station (Welsh: Gorsaf drosglwyddo Caerfyrddin) was originally built by the BBC in 1964/65 as a relay for VHF radio and television. The site was built on a 135 m ridge to the north of Carmarthen itself, and entered service on 15 March 1965. The transmission station is now owned and operated by Arqiva.
