Eastsound (not to be confused with East Sound, which is the body of water adjoining Eastsound) is an unincorporated community on Orcas Island in San Juan County, Washington, United States. Eastsound is the largest population center on Orcas Island, the second-most populated (after San Juan Island) and physically largest of the San Juan Islands.

The county seat and only incorporated town is Friday Harbor, on San Juan Island. The county was formed on October 31, 1873, from Whatcom County and is named for the San Juan Islands, which are in turn named for Juan Vicente de Güemes, 2nd Count of Revillagigedo, the Viceroy of New Spain.

A park focal point is the observation tower atop Mount Constitution, the highest point in San Juan County at 2,407 feet.

Roche Harbor is a sheltered harbor on the northwest side of San Juan Island in San Juan County, Washington, United States, and the site of a resort of the same name. Roche Harbor faces Haro Strait and the Canada–United States border. The harbor itself provides one of the better protected anchorages in the islands. The harbor is surrounded on the east side by San Juan Island, on the north side by Pearl Island, and on the west and south sides by Henry Island. Most of the harbor is 35 to 45 feet (11 to 14 meters) deep. Roche Harbor has a small airport used primarily by local residents.
Shaw Island is the smallest of the four San Juan Islands served by the Washington State Ferries. The island has a land area of 19.952 square kilometers (7.704 square miles) and a small year-round population of 188 (2020 census). During the summer time, weekends swell with other residents and the occasional tourist.
Barnes Island is a small (approx 34 acres, 0.053 sq miles) uninhabited island in San Juan County, Washington, USA. It is located near Clark Island off the northeast coast of Orcas Island. There is no ferry service to it, although it has a small dock. Barnes Island is a privately held island in the San Juans, owned by Charles Bundrandt as of 2013, and is being used for Christian camps, with a permanent group house in addition to tent sites.

Blind Island Marine State Park is a public recreation area consisting of the entirety of Blind Island, an island of less than 3 acres (1.2 ha) at the entrance to Shaw Island's Blind Bay in San Juan County, Washington. The island lies one-third of a mile west of the Shaw Island ferry terminal and has 1,280 feet (390 m) of saltwater shoreline. The park is cooperatively managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and Washington State Parks and is part of the San Juan Islands National Monument.
Canoe Island is a 47-acre (19-hectare) island located in the center of the San Juan Islands, an archipelago in the U.S. state of Washington. The island is situated in Upright Channel between Shaw and Lopez Islands. Canoe Island's surface is mostly forested with second-growth cedar, fir, hemlock, and madrona, with some old-growth trees, too. Its maximum elevation is 127.7 feet (38.9 metres). The rocky shoreline is bordered by dense forests of bull kelp.

Sucia Island () is located 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north of Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands, San Juan County, Washington, United States. It is the largest of an archipelago of ten islands including Sucia Island, Little Sucia, Ewing, Justice, Herndon, the Cluster Islands islets, and several smaller, unnamed islands. The group of islands is about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) in length and just short of a half mile wide. Sucia island is roughly the shape of a hand. The total land area of all islands is 2.74 km2 (1.06 sq mi; 680 acres). The main island of Sucia Island by itself is 2.259 km2 (0.872 sq mi; 558 acres). There was a permanent population of four persons as of the 2000 census, all on Sucia Island. Sucia Island State Park is a Washington State Marine Park.
Henry Island is one of the San Juan Islands of San Juan County, Washington, United States. It lies just off the northwest shore of San Juan Island. It consists of two ridges – one 3 miles (4.8 km) long, the other about half as long – connected by a sand bar, giving the appearance of the letter H on maps. The small Pearl Island also lies between Henry Island and San Juan Island at its northern end. Just northwest of the northern tip of Henry Island lies Battleship Island, a state bird sanctuary. Except for Stuart Island, Henry Island is the westernmost of the San Juan Islands. It has a land area of 4.126 km2 (1.593 sq mi) and had a total of 19 permanent residents as of the 2010 census.

James Island is one of the San Juan Islands in San Juan County, Washington, United States. It lies in Rosario Strait just off the eastern shore of Decatur Island and west of the city of Anacortes. The entire island comprises James Island Marine State Park of the Washington State Park System. It has a land area of 113 acres (46 ha) with 12,335 feet (3,760 m) of saltwater shoreline. The island has no potable water or residents. It has three different camping areas, each with at least one toilet. The camping areas combine for a total of 13 campsites and are connected by a loop trail. James Island was named by Charles Wilkes in 1841 to commemorate the naval hero Reuben James. The property was transferred from the federal government to the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission in 1964.
Johns Island is one of the San Juan Islands in San Juan County, Washington. It lies just east of Stuart Island and north of Spieden Island. Johns Island is home to Camp Nor'wester, a summer camp for children on the west end of the island, and several dozen private vacation cabins on the east end of the island. It has a land area of 0.9083 km2 (0.3507 sq mi, or 224.45 acres). As with many of the outlying San Juan Islands, Johns Island does not have electricity or plumbing. There was a resident population of five persons as of the 2000 census.
Jones Island State Park is a Washington state park coterminous with Jones Island, one of the San Juan Islands in San Juan County, Washington, United States. It is located one mile (1.6 km) west of the southwestern corner of Orcas Island and accessible only by boat. The island has a land area of 188 acres (76 ha) and no resident population. The island was named by the Wilkes Expedition in 1841 for naval officer Jacob Jones.
Lime Kiln Point State Park is a 42-acre Washington state park on the western shore of San Juan Island in the San Juan archipelago. The park is considered one of the best places in the world to view wild orcas from a land-based facility. Due to the unique bathymetric properties of the site, visitors on the shore can be within 20 feet of whales jumping out of the water (breaching and spyhopping). It houses one of Friday Harbor's two lighthouses along with a stone lookout with picnic tables. The park was the site of lime kilns beginning in 1860, and one kiln has been restored as a public exhibit.

Named during the 1841 Wilkes Expedition, it lies off the western shore of San Juan Island, between it and Henry Island. Pearl Island has a land area of 0.151 km² (37.3 acres), only one family lives on this island full time.

The San Juan Islands National Wildlife Refuge is in the San Juan Islands of the Salish Sea, north of Puget Sound, in Washington. Created in 1976, it comprises 83 small, uninhabited islands, scattered throughout the San Juans, with a combined area of approximately 454 acres (1.84 km2). The refuge is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as one of six in the Washington Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Complex.
Satellite Island lies in Prevost Harbor on the north side of Stuart Island in the San Juan Islands of San Juan County, Washington, United States. It has a land area of 116.42 acres (47.11 ha) and no resident population as it is a private island owned by the YMCA, which has five camping areas set up for its use. Two of the camps, Sunset Camp and Fellowship Camp, are used for overnight island trips by campers from YMCA Camp Orkila and are located on the western half of the island. Islander Camp is located on the east side of the island, and is used primarily by the Islander Teen Expedition, a kayaking trip which crosses into Canada's Gulf Islands. Mariner Camp is located on the east side of the island, near Islander Camp, and is used by the Mariner Teen Expedition, a sailing trip for teenagers.
Sheep Island or Picnic Island is one of the San Juan Islands in San Juan County, Washington, in the United States. It is a tiny island lying just off the eastern shore of West Sound, Orcas Island. Sheep Island has a land area of 6,193 square meters (1.530 acres), with a recorded elevation of 23 feet (7.0 m).
Spencer Spit State Park is a public recreation area ran under the Washington State Parks. It covers one hundred and thirty-eight acres (56 ha) (a total of 7,840 feet of shoreline) on the eastern shore of Lopez Island in San Juan County, Washington. It overlooks the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The state park features two sand spits that enclose a salt chuck lagoon that provides a migratory stop for waterfowl, including Bonaparte's gulls. Other local fauna include great blue herons and kingfishers.
Spieden Island is a privately owned island in the San Juan Archipelago in the U.S. state of Washington. It has a land area of 516.4 acres (209.0 ha) and no permanent resident population as of the 2000 census, although several structures are present on various parts of the island. The island was purchased by James Jannard, founder and major shareholder of Oakley, Inc. in 1997 through a shell company and is still owned by him as of 2019.
Stuart Island is one of the San Juan Islands, north of San Juan Island and west of Waldron Island in the U.S. state of Washington. The 7.462-square-kilometer (2.881 sq mi) island is home to two communities of full and part-time residents, a state park, a one-room schoolhouse, and two airstrips.
Turn Island is a 34-acre (14 ha) island in the San Juan Islands in the Salish Sea in the U.S. state of Washington. The island sits in the San Juan Channel about 900 feet off the east coast of San Juan Island. It is preserved as Turn Island Marine State Park and is part of the San Juan Islands National Wildlife Refuge. The island has 12 campsites and is only accessible by water. A few meters off the west shore of Turn Island, astride Boat Channel lies an unnamed island. It is almost devoid of any trees, and is almost entirely covered in a thin layer of grass.

The island is home to a wide array of flora and fauna, including over 50 species of wildflowers, bald eagles, harbor seals, black oystercatchers, and harlequin ducks. The island was purchased in 1979 by The Nature Conservancy, and is administered as a nature preserve.
Skull Island is the name of two small islands in the San Juan Archipelago in the U.S. state of Washington. The northernmost Skull Island is located off the coast of Orcas Island in Massacre Bay, the most northern extension of the island's West Sound. It is identified as 3.2-acre (1.3 ha) Skull Island State Park Property by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission. It was named for holding skulls and bones of a band of Lummi who were killed by raiding Haida in 1858. Since 2013, it has been part of the San Juan Islands National Monument.

British Columbia's Saturna Island lies 3.2 miles to the northwest across the Canadian maritime border. Skipjack Island is uninhabited and protected as part of the San Juan Islands National Wildlife Refuge.
