Batumi (; Georgian: ბათუმი pronounced [ˈb̥a'tʰu.mi] ), historically Batum or Batoum, is the second-largest city of Georgia and the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, located on the coast of the Black Sea in Georgia's southwest, 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of the border with Turkey. It is situated in a subtropical zone at the foot of the Caucasus. Much of Batumi's economy revolves around tourism and gambling (it is nicknamed "The Las Vegas of the Black Sea"), but the city is also an important seaport and includes industries like shipbuilding, food processing and light manufacturing. Since 2010, Batumi has been transformed by the construction of modern high-rise buildings, as well as the restoration of classical 19th-century edifices lining its historic Old Town.

Gonio (Georgian: გონიოს ციხე, previously called Apsarus or Apsaros (Ancient Greek: Ἄψαρος) and Apsyrtus or Apsyrtos (Ἄψυρτος)) is a Roman fortification in Adjara, Georgia, on the Black Sea, 15 km south of Batumi, at the mouth of the Chorokhi river. The village sits 4 km north of the Turkish border. Its name was connected with the myth of Medea and her brother Absyrtus.
Alexander Kartveli Batumi International Airport (IATA: BUS, ICAO: UGSB) is an international airport located 2 km (1.2 mi) south of Batumi, a city on the Black Sea coast and capital of Adjara, an autonomous republic in southwest Georgia. The airport is 20 km (12 mi) northeast of Hopa, Turkey, and serves as a domestic and international airport for Georgia. The airport is named after Alexander Kartveli, an aeronautical engineer and aviation pioneer. A sculpture dedicated to Fadiko Gogitidze, Adjara's first woman pilot, is at the entrance.

It was unveiled on 6 July 2007 by the President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, as part of a wider program to promote Batumi as a Black Sea tourist destination. The monument has since become one of the city's most recognizable landmarks and a symbol of Georgia’s link to classical mythology and the legend of the Argonauts.

Losorion or Lysiris (Ancient Greek: Λοσόριον), was a Byzantine (Roman) fortification on the eastern Black Sea coast, in Lazica in what is now Batumi, western Georgia. In the 6th century, it was constructed by Byzantine emperor Justinian I, and due to its strategic location became a battleground of the 541–562 Lazic War between Rome and Sasanian Persia (Iran). It was identified with the Medieval fortress of Batumi, known as Tamaris Tsikhe, i.e. Queen Tamar's Castle.

The structure combines the design of DNA, in its familiar double helix pattern. Two helix bands rise up the tower holding 33 letters of the Georgian alphabet, each 4 meters tall and made of aluminium.
The Batumi Tower, also known as the Batumi Technological University Tower, is a skyscraper in Batumi, Georgia. Standing at 200 m (660 ft), it is currently the second-tallest building in Georgia, after the Alliance Centropolis Tower C, which reached 210 m (690 ft) upon topping out. The skyscraper is primarily constructed of concrete and uniquely features a ferris wheel embedded within its structure. Designed in the modernist style by Metal Yapi, construction was completed in 2012. Upon its completion, it was the tallest building in the Caucasus region until 2015, when it was surpassed by the SOCAR Tower in Baku, Azerbaijan, which stands 209 m (686 ft) tall.

Chacha Tower (Georgian: ჭაჭის კოშკი) is a clock tower located in Batumi, Georgia. It was built in 2012 by the city council with a cost of one million Georgian laris. The tower is 25 m (82 ft) high and has four fountains. It is a replica of the Clock Tower in İzmir, Turkey. Georgian chacha comes out of the fountains of the tower instead of water. The tower hosts a tourism information center.
